It really seems like a blink of an eye, the first chapter of a book, but lucky for us, we got to meet.
I came to college, not knowing what to expect, not thinking I would make lifelong friendships.
You hear all the stories about people with terrible experiences, then you hear some stories about how people make great life long friends in college.
I wasn’t sure where I would be in the mix of things. I was lucky to have met you after just a short time.
At first, our friendship was awkward because we didn’t seem similar on the surface.
We both had different definitions of school, boys, and weekend adventures, but then, we realized that our friendship was so much more.
We realized we both had our quirks, and that we both were pretty witty, and obviously our love for numbers helped us out too.
From that day on, we became study buddies, class buddies, we would message each other during lectures, figure out our plans for the weekend, and we would give each other advice about anything and everything.
You’re the one that gives the best advice, and you are the one person that will always have my back.
You aren’t afraid to tell me how you feel about any given situation, or if you think I am making a mistake. As much as I don’t want to admit it, you are usually right about things.
I believe you called me crazy a couple times, to my face, for things that I did.
Yeah looking back at that, you were right then too. I look back now and wonder how I survived those years before you and I met.
We look back now and we just laugh because who would have thought we would have made it this far?
College wouldn’t have been the same without you. In fact, my life would not be complete without you. You were the missing phone number in my contact list. You were the missing friend that I was destined to meet. You have made my life complete, and you are the true definition of a best friend.
So here's to all our future endeavors - may they all be exciting and worthwhile. No chapter is too big for us to handle, and nowhere in the world is too far for our friendship.
So grateful to have met you and got to experience college together.
