She knows that deep down, he has a good heart, and his intentions, while sometimes a little messy, were pure.
But she also knows that she can't have what was never hers. His heart always belonged to someone else. She was just the stand in, and she's learned to accept that.
She wanted so badly for him to be that guy for her. The guy who gave her some kind of hope, some kind of faith that maybe love was real, that it was lasting.
But he couldn't do that for her. And it's not like he meant to break her heart, it just sort of... happened.
She just wishes he would've told her before he made her fall in love with him. Because that's what he did.
And the girl who does have his heart... she's really lucky to have found someone like him.
She would be lying if she said that some part of her heart wishes that it could've been her.
But she knows she was never 'the girl' for him, so it's better to just let go than hang on to something that's bound to kill her in the end.
Because he already found his 'one,' the girl who shows him how true love can change him, the girl who makes every day a little bit brighter just because she's in his life.
She just came after, and maybe that was for the best.
Ever since their start things had always felt a little bit off. There were always parts of him that she would never get to see, parts that she would never understand.
He wouldn't show her his inner demons or how beautifully broken he truly was inside. Because he already had a girl that he opened up to and showed his scars to.
So now she's left behind, in love with a guy who wasn't ready to give anyone else a shot.
But at least it doesn't hurt her like it used too, because if you love someone you're supposed to set them free. And even if he can't see it now, that's what she did for him.
She just always hoped just a little bit that someday, he would come back to her.
But he didn't. And he won't. And she has to be the bigger person now.
She's not bitter anymore. She doesn't want him to think that she somehow hates him because it all fell apart.
She just hopes that he doesn't mess with anyone else's heart, the way he did to her.
Because being the second choice, that stays with a girl. She can't just forget something like that, as much as she tries.
She knows that her begging him to stay only went so far. She know that she was ready and he wasn't. But please, don't say sorry. She doesn't want to hear it.
