You can't stand that feeling you get when you know things aren't working... That feeling you get deep in your gut that reminds you that no matter how much you try he's going to leave.
Life just doesn't always work out the way you want it to. Especially, when it comes to love. It's a feeling and commitment you can never really control.
And it's hard knowing that at any time you or him could not want to work at it anymore.
But the worst part is falling in love with the wrong person.
You've heard it before, "Wait, you have plenty of time to find love." or my personal favorite, "I know what I'm talking about it's not worth it right now."
You know they are just trying to help but you also have to learn from your own experiences. When it comes to love, you kind of have to figure that out on your own.
And at times that includes falling in love with a person who breaks every part of you.
He was the "guy". He was the one you could never stop talking about.
The one you imagined your future with and were certain he would be your future.
Then things changed. He got distant or mean. He took advantage of your love or treated it like it meant nothing.
He completely changed and your broke. Not all at once, but slowly which might have been the hardest part.
It broke a little when he stopped looking at you with that "I want you forever" look, you know it well.
It broke a little more when he forgot important things or stopped doing all the cute things you feel in love with him for doing.
But it broke the most when you realized that he wasn't in love with you anymore.
You tried so hard to make things work. You loved him, with every inch of your soul and now you're left in shambles wondering what went wrong.
Well, it wasn't you. What happened was something that happens to everyone, you fell in love with the wrong person.
You fell in love with a man who wasn't ready, or wasn't sure and that's not fair to you. Because in the end, you can't make someone love you, and you shouldn't want to.
But don't let this discourage you from finding the man you're meant to be with. Love is fickle but so is giving up and thinking love is a joke.
Love makes the world go round and once you realize that you're not alone and the person you're supposed to be is out there waiting to love you, a broken heart feels a little better.
You have so much more to live for than a man who didn't appreciate you and who didn't realize you're the one he will always be wishing he kept.
You didn't deserve to fall in love with the wrong man, but one day you'll realize how important this broken heart was to finding him.
