It's hard to keep your balance when the waves of life come crashing under your feet, making your ankles buckle. Suddenly standing becomes a task that isn't so effortless.
But what's worse than all of life's waves crashing down on you is reflecting your waves onto the only one that keeps you afloat.
The one who's your life saver, lifeguard, life jacket, and rescue buoy. The one who withstands every wave you're too afraid to swim through.
You make it look so effortless and easy, but every wave comes crashing down eventually.
And for those waves that aren't yours to swim through, I can't thank you enough for holding me up and holding me still.
Every ocean has shallow ends, just like every human has shallow tendencies.
Unfortunately, these shallow tendencies engulf even the largest of waves.
But you see, you and me -- our oceans have collided and our waves intensified.
You are the heartbeat of my ocean and I need to swim through these waves with you rather than drown in the depths of my own personal waves.
Because the truth of the matter is, the waves of my ocean would be nowhere close to shore without you.
So for those days where I buckle at the knees and send each crashing wave to you, I hope you always know that, without you, I'd be lost at sea.
