You made it! You overcame every obstacle you thought you could never get over. You graduated college, started your career, and made something of yourself.
You showed everyone who ever told you that you would never make it that you are capable of anything. You should be very proud of yourself.
You are probably still with Jeremy, which is a huge accomplishment, You are probably both making something of yourselves, living together and talking more about your future.
You probably have kids now. A boy and a girl like you hoped, but I know you would be happy if you had all boys, or all girls. You would love your kids just as much as you love yourself and Jeremy.
Maybe you are married, maybe you aren't. I guarantee you are completely happy with your life though.
You probably paid off all your debt, got a car that you like, and are living in either an apartment, or hopefully your own house.
You probably have a dog, or two, or let's face it, even 3. You have always been such a huge animal lover. You have always grown up with dogs, I guarantee you won't have chickens though, you hated taking care of chickens when you lived with your sisters family.
You are probably back in Illinois, where you feel the safest, and feel comforted. You probably keep everything you learned about yourself in Wisconsin close to you. Or who knows maybe you still live in Wisconsin. The future is a lovely place.
You probably made more friends, became a lot more mature. You probably lost friends too. People can be so cruel and mean.
Your depression probably still gets bad at times, you probably still want to give up on life. You will always have those days where you just want to give up and quit. Don't ever let it happen. You have always been such a beautiful girl.
Your nieces and nephews are probably all grown up(or almost there at least). It's hard to believe they are growing up so fast. Before you know it they will be going on first dates, falling in love, getting hurt, making mistakes, etc.
No matter what though, you will always be proud of yourself, because no matter how hard life gets, you know you can get through it.
You'll come on here and read some of your old articles, and won't be able to believe how much better your writing has gotten. You'll be proud of all the articles you published.
Most of all, you'll look back on your past and smile because everything brought you to this moment in life, You'll smile at what's to come more into the future and be ready for whatever life throws at you. And I will always be right there beside you, because you are me, and we can both get through all this together.
Your past self
P.S, when you look back on your life, I hope you truly smile at how far you have come.
