Life is fluid, it's always in motion, never slowing or stopping for anything or anyone. All we can do is grab hold of something drifting by and try like hell to keep up.
All of a sudden we stop moving, but the world keeps on going without us.
Things we used to love, jobs we once wanted, people we once thought we loved just don't seem to work with our life plans anymore.
And that's just part of life as we grow older. It makes us take a long hard look at what we're holding onto— the things that we're struggling to carry and the things that have become a part of us.
We can only hold so much, so as we transition into different stages of life, we let go of the things that aren't as important and we place a higher value on the things that are left.
And that's OK because some things just aren't meant to be a part of our lives.
Once we shed those material things that aren't serving us for the better, we're one step closer to becoming the best versions of us.
Because what makes us unique isn't the 'things' we have, but the traits that interlace together and make up who we are. And we can even stand to lose some of our more negative qualities too, they can weigh heavy on us.
That grudge you've been holding for way too long, let it go. The resting bitch face that finds its way onto your face once in a while. Replace it with a smile.
Sometimes it can be hard to let go and reevaluate our lives and ourselves, but it's something that helps us in the long term. It gives us room to grow.
