Summer’s going to be here before we know it (we promise). Time for shorts, the beach, swimming pools, and ice cream. And nothing is getting us more excited for warmer weather than Anne Hathaway’s new haircut.
On the off chance that you don’t follow Hathaway’s every hair move, let us just say that she doesn’t tend to mix it up much. She usually keeps it long-long, with the occasional long bob (lob).
But a black and white Instagram posted by Adir Abergel shows Hathaway rocking a super cute wavy shag haircut. It’s the perfect haircut for summer, because the hotter and more humid it gets, the better the haircut looks.
Abergel captioned the photo, “New cut, new vibes” and added that Hathaway is currently promoting her new movie, Hustle.
In another photo of Hathaway, this one color, Abergel explained exactly how to get Hathaway’s piece-y, textured look.
All right, that’s kind of a lot of work, but hey, the result is amazing!
And people expressed in the comments how much they loved Hathaway’s new look.
Any woman on the internet knows the annoyance of a guy who just won’t leave her alone, whether on social media or in real life. And, of course, there are the worst guys—the ones who send unsolicited dick pics. It’s not cute, it’s harassment.
But, because not all guys are terrible, and allyship comes in all forms, one man made himself truly useful by tweeting what look like candid pics of himself, meant to be used to deflect unwanted male attention.
Trevor Norris (@trevor_norris0 on Twitter) included four pictures of himself in a tweet that read, “Saw there was an actual market of women that needed this… so here are some pictures y’all can use to send to guys that won’t leave you alone or keep sending you unsolicited pictures. Goodluck.”
Norris also pointed out that a woman who is being harassed on Instagram can contact the company.
If you foreal have a problem with being harassed and don’t know how get out of said situation or what to do about it go to IG. There is a real support system there forall the troubled people out there. Goodluck & be safe pic.twitter.com/W254XOlpbw
And the results were fantastic. Women were thrilled that they now had realistic-looking pictures they could send to anyone bothering them to send the message “I got a man.”
My friend doesn’t have twitter but I showed her ur thread and we literally just used one of ur pics to get rid of a guy tht has kept blowing her up and not taking the hint
One mom wrote to Norris to thank him and call him a genius.
As a mom, I personally don’t have need of your services, but I LOVE YOU—YOU ARE A GENIUS. Thank you so much for helping girls (maybe even some guys) protect themselves. It’s sad that it’s necessary. I’m sending this to my daughter and all her friends. ?
Linda Cardellini and Seth McFarlane appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden this week. Corden was talking with McFarlane about how long Family Guy has been on the air when Corden mentioned that Cardellini, who you may remember from the very excellent Freaks and Geeks, or more recently, Bloodlines and Mad Men, would be a good voice on the show.
That gave Cardellini the opportunity to bring up that, interestingly enough, she was on McFarlane’s animated show once. Only, she got fired.
Meanwhile, McFarlane is sipping from his mug, probably wishing he could melt into the couch.
Here is that very awkward moment:
Cardellini explained that she wasn’t actually fired. What happened was, when she went to watch the show, after excitedly telling people to tune in, she learned she’d been replaced by another actor. And no one had even told her!
McFarlane said, “I hope you didn’t have people over to your house to like, watch the show or anything like that,” and Cardellini responded, “I mean, I might have.”
Honestly, there really is no excuse for something like this. McFarlane said he didn’t remember the situation, which may or may not be true, but it was his show, and he’s ultimately responsible. It would be nice if he could at least apologize!
In the end, McFarlane said, “I’ll say what I say whenever something like this happens: Can I offer you something on American Dad?” Hmm, “whenever something like this happens”? Does it happen often? Because if so, maybe get it together, McFarlane?
You can watch the whole clip below, but prepare to cringe!
Kids dress up as all kinds of things—real people, superheroes, animals. And for some reason, people seem to think that there’s something wrong with allowing boys to dress like girls and vice versa. A boy dressing as Wonder Woman is no more likely to turn out gay than a kid pretending to be a dog is going to identify later as canine. There’s not a thing wrong with being gay either, it’s just that one has nothing to do with the other.
Instagram star and YouTuber mom Jessica Ballinger posts a lot about her kids online. And one thing she gets questions about is her 5-year-old son’s predilection for wearing dresses and tutus and bows in his hair.
The tweet said, simply, “Apparently this needs to be said again. Xoxo.” Along with a picture of her son Parker in a dress, Ballinger included a note that read:
“This is my son. He loves lots of things. He loves dressing up and dancing and science and gymnastics and his family and @itsjojosiwa and Mickey Mouse and makeup and Peter Pan and drawing and math and he currently plans to marry his best friend and loves to play family with her and laments that his body can’t carry babies, but he dresses up like he’s pregnant anyway.
I frequently see questions online asking if he’s gay or trans or why does he dress like a GIRL??? My answer is that he is five and he loves a lot of things. If you see a boy in a dress, or playing in a traditionally female role, ask yourself—”if the roles were reversed, would I question it?” When you see a little girl playing fireman/policeman/soldier/any previously male-only role or wearing pants or dressing like a favorite super hero or male celebrity, do you question it? Do you ask if she is gay or trans or imply that she is wrong for having the interests she has? NO, we rightfully celebrate their desire to be and do ANYTHING. We call girls strong and celebrate it. Why don’t we do that for boys?
We limit boys by only allowing them to love what we think boys should love. I do not know what the future holds for our child. I will love him however he identifies. But right now, he has heroes who are girls. I celebrate that. And I think it means a lot for women. We SHOULD be heroes to our little boys. By not allowing boys to dress like the women they admire, you are telling them that being a boy is BETTER. That it doesn’t matter if that girl is brilliant, fierce, and his hero—it will make him “less” to idolize her. It doesn’t make him less to admire women. It makes him MORE. More willing to express what he is passionate about, more respectful of the women in his life and more open to believing women can be heroes.”
She’s right—aside from stunting their own personal development, limiting what boys can wear and telling them they shouldn’t pretend to be girls or women really does give them the impression that women are not worth imitating.
People on Twitter agreed wholeheartedly, but many stated that they were sad Ballinger had to send this message again.
i’m sad that this has to be said not only once but AGAIN, but i’m happy that someone like you is speaking up about it. i really do want to be parker when i grow up
parker is the coolest kid.i love that he expresses himself through his fashion and his interests. i wish more people could understand that clothes are just clothes and interests are just interests and there doesn’t have to be a gender attached to them. you’re a wonderful mom ?
Here’s to fierce, beautiful boys who are brave enough to be totally themselves — and to the mamas and dads and families who support and celebrate them ?
And someone else claimed that Parker was braver than she was.
i love that you and christopher encourage parker to express himself how he chooses to, dress how he chooses and play how he chooses. Parker is an inspiration to me because i STILL don’t express myself how i want too because i’m scared of judgement. PARKER IS INCREDIBLE!!!
Lady Gaga is engaged to Christian Carino no more. A source told People, “It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end.” The source added that the couple actually split “a bit ago,” and that “there is no dramatic story.”
The news isn’t exactly shocking to fans of Gaga’s, who noticed something was up when Gaga was spotted without her engagement ring at the 2019 Grammys on February 10. Gaga also neglected to thank Carino in her speech when she accepted the best pop duo or group performance award for her song “Shallow.”
And then, on Valentine’s Day, when Gaga didn’t post a pic of herself and Carino, but instead Instagrammed a shot of a new tattoo of a rose she’d gotten on her back, inspired by A Star Is Born.
So you know what that means, right? Now Lady Gaga is FREE TO DATE BRADLEY COOPER! And that’s just what the internet is thinking. As soon as the split was confirmed, people started to ship the two stars.
But let’s also spend a minute remembering Gaga’s relationship with Christian Carino. Hopefully the breakup isn’t too hard on either one of them, and they’ll move on amicably.
Couples fight about all kinds of things, but some couples are honestly just funnier than others, and so are their fights. Twitter Queen Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend are that kind of couple. They share so much of their life together online and just about everything they do is funny, so it makes sense that their arguments (well, some of them, at least) are light-hearted, too.
Teigen, who is not only hilarious on Twitter but who you also know from her cookbooks and her modeling and her gig on Lip Sync Battle) said she wasn’t going to tweet the story of the fight, but she did anyway, luckily for us, because it’s hilarious.
It seems that Teigen was having cravings for a childhood favorite: Totino’s. But there ended up being some confusion over whether she meant the pizza rolls for which they are totally famous, or just regular Totino’s pizza, which apparently exists, but I had no idea. And neither did John Legend, who accidentally ordered Tostino’s pizza rolls instead of pizza from Postmates. And he didn’t figure out the error, even while they were discussing the preparation of the food, which they were doing in advance, because Teigen was so excited about the pizza.
I told john I wouldn’t tweet this but I lied here goes
This is the part where the confusion starts to become evident.
For 30 minutes we have been discussing how to ensure crispness. I say it needs to be on the rack. He says no it has to go on a pan. The pizza is merely en route and I’m so madly excited about it that we are discussing how to handle its arrival
it’s pizza rolls. he has no idea totino’s makes pizza. but more importantly he thinks I am so stupid I would think tiny pizza rolls go directly onto the rack
I am blown away he indulged this conversation, thinking I was talking about rolls. it’s like when michael Scott was like wow Oscar thinks so little of me when he accepted his horrid gift
In a hilarious and utterly stupid video, Teigen pretends she thought they should make pizza rolls directly on the rack, as if she wouldn’t be aware that they’d just fall through.
People on Twitter said Tostino’s should turn the story into an ad, but Teigen countered by pointing out that they probably don’t want that kind of endorsement.
you guys gotta be crazy for thinking totinos would approve an ad saying “I don’t want good pizza, I want totinos”
In a final update, Teigen posted a picture of herself eating the Tostino’s pizza, with fresh tomato on top, just like she wanted. Craving met. Fight over? No idea.
We’re always here for a good make-up challenge, and this one definitely qualifies: beauty influencers are using their extraordinary make-up skills to turn themselves into Bratz dolls. That means huge, super made-up eyes, big pouty lips, and absolutely no pores, dammit.
Here are the best of the best of the Bratz doll challenge. Some of the makeup artists even did video tutorials for their looks, so we’ve included those, too. So much doll goodness!
Katy Perry has thrown some shade in her time, make no mistake. She had that thing with Taylor Swift, with a diss track and stealing backup dancers and a whole bunch of drama. Supposedly that’s over, but let’s just say it wouldn’t be out of character for her to diss someone like, say, Britney Spears.
Perry has brought up Spears in the past, making mention of the breakdown in 2007 when Britney shaved her head.
She’s brought it up at least three times: Once in an interview.
Once on a red carpet.
Remember when Katy Perry mocked Britney’s breakdown? And y’all closed your eyes on that? pic.twitter.com/uSPLUWntrx
On Friday, Perry Instagrammed a picture of something nice someone had said about her by making Spears look sort of bad. Perry posted a quote from a Q&A with producer Greg Wells. The interviewer brought up Perry, saying, “In past conversations, you’ve related that Katy is her own woman.”
Wells responded basically by dissing Britney Spears. He said,
“I’m not sure if people know that. They think she’s handed a script like a Britney Spears and told what to sing. It’s the exact opposite. She is telling people like me or Max Martin what to do. She tells her management who will direct her video and she tells her label what the first single will be. She drives it. She’s been like that since the first album.”
Perry put a heart around that part of the interview, added the word “hugs” to the Instagram story, and added text at the bottom reading “it’s nice when people are nice luv u and congrats @sirgregwells.”
Well. That’s…definitely a diss. It clearly implies that Britney Spears isn’t her own women, and doesn’t have any say in or control over her music and career. Just what does Perry have against Spears?
Fans of Britney were not having it and came for Katy.
Uh, fucking no. It’s ignorant to say that Britney Spears has never made a decision about her own career – down to the “…Baby” video being her own idea after shooting down the corny original concept. Please stop feeding into this bullshit narrative.
Why does Katy perry constantly throw shade at queen Britney when Brit has been NOTHING but nice and supportive to her. Karma is a bitch. Have fun on idol pic.twitter.com/1GTaFkEcjN
What is this feud even about? Both women are talented performers and amazingly hard workers. There’s no need for Katy Perry to try to tear Britney Spears down.
