In a this world there are these special creatures called brothers.
Whether you have one or 11, there are a few things everyone knows true about having brothers. We learn a lot, fight a lot, and love a lot because of this breed of humans.
Having brothers has made me the strong person I am today, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
I’ve learned so much from being the only girl with three brothers, and these are just a few of them.
1. Anywhere and everywhere is a wrestling ring.
Even though you’re the only girl, this doesn’t mean you are exempt from being beat on. Between the fist fights, screaming matches, or full on wrestling, you learn to be tough.
Not only are these a daily occurrence, they can and will happen everywhere. Whether you’re at home, in a store, at a friend’s house, and even in the car.
And they are always broken up by the scary yells from mom or dad.
2. Always have your sibling’s backs.
Whether it is to friends, mean people on the playground, or even your family, you will defend your brother’s until the very end no matter what.
You can talk crap about your brothers whenever you please, but God forbid someone else utter anything bad about them. Mess with one of us, you get all four of us.
3. Never stress the small stuff.
Although we’ve all gone through different struggles over the years, we all go through it together. We’ve learned to pick and choose our battles by watching each others struggles.
They’ve taught me not to sweat the small things, to forget what I can’t change, and to forgive people who never ask for forgiveness.
4. Tough love is a real thing.
Brothers can be some of the meanest people ever, even worse than teenage girls sometimes. But everything they do and say is out of love.
They know what’s best for you before you do. And they do whatever they have to make sure you are at your best.
Brothers can be some of the toughest critics you’ll ever meet, but they are also undercover superheros.
5. Brothers are the best friends you’ll ever have.
Along with being your personal cheering section, tormentors, and superheros; brothers are the best friends you’ll ever have.
First off, they required to be your friends, its a part of the contract they signed whenever you were brought into this world. Second, they grow on you like a fungus (a fungus you’d never wanna get rid of, of course).
They stick up for you, cover for you, and beat up people whenever you need them to.
Brothers are the best and worst things in your life. Your annoyance and your warrior. But I know I wouldn’t trade mine for the world.
