We all know that the Harry Potter series is wildly popular. With that level of popularity comes droves of enthusiastic fans creating all sorts of fan art, fan fic (which is okay in this case, since JK Rowling is cool with it), crafts, music, and music videos.

Potter fans are no doubt familiar with some of these—but if you haven’t seen them in a while or didn’t know about all of them, these are just the kind of vids that can bring a smile to an otherwise crappy day.

Friday. One of the worst songs ever written becomes damn funny when it’s suddenly about Hogwarts. Some of the actors and voices here are really close to the actual cast. Watch for Harry to sing, “It sets my teeth on edge.”

The Mysterious Ticking Noise. This is the Gold-Standard for Harry Potter fan vids. The Potter Puppet Pals bring enthusiasm, style, and puppets to the magical world. Most people sing along as just one character—me? I’m Hermione! I’ll apologize in advance for the earworm, since you might end up humming this for the rest of the day.

Voldemort’s Final Horcrux. Not quite as musical as some of the other selections here, but def one of the funniest. Spoiler Alert: The Final Horcrux is something that can never actually be destroyed. That’s right—it’s a Nokia phone.

A Very Potter Musical. I find this one very funny. There’s a lot of it, but YouTubers were kind enough to divide each act into 8-10 pieces for convenient viewing (even at work—Shhh.). I think Quirrel is my fave part of this. If you’re a fan of completion, be sure to start at the beginning.

Dumbledore. It takes cojones to make a parody of a Weird Al Yankovic song, but that’s exactly what Steve Goodie did. This reimagining of the Yankovic style parody “Hardware Store” is smart, funny, and pretty dang accurate. The unblinking, memorized performance is even better.

Do the Hippogriff. The Wyrd/Weird Sisters may be a fictional band, but in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, they were played by members of both Pulp and Radiohead. Cool, eh? If you listen to the lyrics, they’re totally amusing.

Voldemort is awesome. I wish they’d made a whole vid for this instead of just the lyrics—but this one is so funny I had to include it anyway. Sure, Draco and the Malfoys might be a transparently pandering band name but—I can’t think of a way to finish that sentence.

Epic Rap Battle: Gandalf versus Dumbledore. There’s a whole series of these Epic Rap battles between various historical and fictional characters. Of course Gandalf versus Dumbledore is the most apt to this list. Language here might be a little saucy for kids, but anyone older than 12 will probably laugh as hard as I did.

The Elements. Okay, this isn’t technically a Potter vid. It’s Daniel Radcliffe on the BBC’s Graham Norton show. Delightfully, he’s singing an old classic by the great musical funnyman Tom Lehrer. This is amazing, and something only super nerds can do. Watch for him to tell the cheering crowd to be quiet!

Wizard Rap Battle. Can you handle more rap? It’s Harry “The Boy Who Survived” Potter versus Voldie “He Who Must Not Be Named, but Imma Do it Anyway” in a Detroit-style rap battle to the pain! Caution: contains grown-up language.

BONUS: Honest Harry Potter Trailer. No, it’s not musical, but I’m including it because of the hilarious poignancy. You’re welcome.
