10 Nostalgic Summer Activities to Channel Your Inner Tiny Tot

4) Rainy Day

Summer is notorious for those seasonal thunderstorms and showers. So when you can’t enjoy the heat of summer outside, channel your inner tiny tot from indoors. Instead of scrolling through Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, venture to MySpace and try to login into your old account. See your pre-puberty photos adorned with awkward selfie angles, braces and too much eyeliner. Check out your top friends and then probably delete all evidence of that transitional period in your life from the realm of social media. After stalking yourself, for those of you that had Neopets or Webkinz…venture to that site and give the games ago.

On these rainy days you can also delve into some old movies and shows of your choice that were the essence of your childhood from tiny tot to full blown teenager. Perhaps a little Courage the Cowardly Dog, Cat and Dog, Dragon Tales, Fraggle Rock, Zoey 101, That’s So Raven, Phil From the Future just to name a few. As far as movies go, veer away from Disney classics because let’s all admit it we still watch them on a regular basis. Dig deeper…something like E.T. or all of the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen films…you get the point. A final option to relive some tiny tot nostalgia is to do what we all wanted to do as kids without getting scolded and…GO PLAY IN THE RAIN.

5) Field Day

Most of us experienced the annual “Field Day” at school that encompassed varying games. Gather a group of pals and have a competition, maybe even intertwine some adult beverages into your Field Day. Some game options include:

  • Kickball
  • Dodgeball
  • Dizzy Bat
  • Egg Toss
  • Water Balloon
  • Sack Race
  • Three Legged Race
  • Apple Bobbing

6) Make a Mixtape

Remember the days when many presents were in the form of a little white disc decorated in marker from your friends or crush with a mixtape of the poppin’ songs or a disc that spun ‘round and ‘round in a Boombox heating up to exude a playlist of your current emotions as a hormonal pre-teen. So now as a still emotionally unstable, if you tilt your head the right way adult make a mixtape of some of your favorite throwbacks and decorate that little white disc.

7) Craft Day

To pass the summer days as youthful spirits we put our creative minds to the test and delved into the arts. Whether that was partaking in painting everywhere but the paper you were suppose to create works of art on, or painting any concrete surface with chalk. Maybe even making friendship bracelets. Reel in some nostalgia by engaging in all things crafty, if you don’t want to buy all the materials maybe settle for a little wine and painting night at your local pub…still counts right?
