Sequel Time: 8 Old Shows We Want Resurrected

We reunited familiar TV characters and made our own list of TV shows we want to see sequels to. From Red Green Show to Facts Of Life and Threes Company- there are just so many shows that were household staples and deserve a comeback or part 2!

Classic Comedies:

  • Firefly: This space Western cult classic, canceled after one season, has a passionate fanbase who would love to see Captain Malcolm Reynolds and his crew return for more adventures.
  • Veronica Mars: This teen detective drama had a satisfying movie conclusion, but there’s always room for more witty mysteries starring Veronica Mars.
  • Freaks and Geeks: Though short-lived, this coming-of-age comedy from the minds of Judd Apatow and Paul Feig has a timeless quality and fans would love to see how the characters matured.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Returns:

  • Farscape: This imaginative sci-fi show with Jim Henson creature effects deserves a proper conclusion after its abrupt cancellation.
  • Dark Angel: Jessica Alba as a genetically-enhanced super soldier in a post-apocalyptic world? Yes, please!
  • Dollhouse: Joss Whedon’s mind-bending exploration of identity and free will left many unanswered questions that fans would love explored.

Drama with Second Acts:

  • Deadwood: This gritty Western drama with its rich characters and sharp dialogue deserves another season to tie up loose ends.
  • Pushing Daisies: This quirky dramedy about a pie maker who can bring people back to life with a touch, but only for a minute, had a unique concept and deserves another helping.
  • Hannibal: This psychological thriller featuring a captivating performance by Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter left fans wanting more.

Bonus Picks:

  • Clone High: This satirical animated show featuring teenage clones of historical figures like Abraham Lincoln and Joan of Arc is ripe for a modern revival.
  • My So-Called Life: This realistic portrayal of teenage life in the 90s could be revisited to explore the challenges and triumphs of young people today.

This is just a small sampling, of course. There are countless shows with passionate fanbases who would love to see them return. The key ingredients for a successful sequel seem to be a strong core cast, compelling storylines, and a way to recapture the magic of the original show while offering something fresh for returning viewers. Gossip Girl has already comeback and Gilmore Girls too. Hooray!
