‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 3 Teaser Shows Major Changes For June

For fans of Hulu’s original series The Handmaid’s Tale, it’s been quite some time since we’ve heard anything about June and the other Handmaids. At the end of Season 2, we were left off with June almost escaping the hell that she was living in—but, knew that things couldn’t end all too well. If there were to be another season or two of the show, things had to go south again.

Hulu announced with a 10-second teaser that Season 3 was going to have major changes in store for June. In the 10-second clip, with no dialogue, June is seen wearing what appears to be a Matha’s outfit—that similar to Rita, the Martha who is stationed at Commander and Serena Waterford’s home. The outfit is a grey robe and a scarf around the head, much different than the red dress that Handmaids wear on a regular basis. This could mean that June is no longer going to be raped in order to produce children in Gilead and, instead, will be as a domestic servant for a wealthy family.

The ad also signals that will be a full trailer during the Super Bowl on Sunday. So, if you’re interested in seeing what lies behind the story of June as a Martha, you’ll have to sit through a Patriots’ Super Bowl (and a Travis Scott half-time show, too). As for June, it seems that she may be stirring the pot just a bit more this season. And, fans on Twitter were all too excited to see a clip (even if it was only 10-seconds).

As you can imagine, not many fans of The Handmaid’s Tale watch the Super Bowl, so A+ marketing from whoever decided this matchup was a good idea. Otherwise, I cannot wait to see how this trailer turns out.
