Best No-Equipment Exercises To Do At Home While Social Distancing

Exercise #2 Push Ups on Knees

Learning how to perform full push ups is important for both men and women, but you have got to start somewhere. The fact is, that most women do not have the upper body strength to perform a full push up. A large percentage of men don’t either!

Learning how to do push ups on your knees will help you to build some upper body strength, and eventually you can progress to full push ups.

Place both hands flat on the ground and place your knees on the ground too. Your feet should be in the air and crossed. You want your hands to be directly below your shoulders. This is your starting position.

Keeping your elbows close to your sides, slowly lower your chest and torso down towards the ground. Stop just before your chest touches it. Pause, and then drive your chest back to the starting position. Stop just before your arms are fully locked out and then repeat the movement.

The further back you place your knees, the more difficult the exercise. Keep bringing your knees a little further back as you get stronger. Eventually you will be able to repeat the movement without your knees touching the ground at all.
