The Secret Cervix: Has Political Correctness Infiltrated White House Security?

In the early 90’s, as we were heading into the Gulf War, a debate started heating up about women in the military. In a quest for equality, feminist groups demanded that women be given the same opportunity to fight alongside men on the front lines.

At the time, I didn’t understand the argument. Our military isn’t an institution that should be compromised for fear of offending people. The military exists for a pretty basic reason: to protect our country, and, when necessary, to kill our enemies. If I have to assemble an army of 1,000 people to fight against an enemy army out to destroy me and my way of life, then I’m going to choose the strongest, fastest, fiercest 1,000 people I can find, regardless of their gender. Realistically, I’d expect most of them would be men.

One variable that would surely put me at a disadvantage: being told that a certain percentage of my troops had to be female, just because we didn’t want to them to feel offended.

Fast forward a few decades, and that’s pretty much what’s happened. Little by little, liberal activists, who have insisted on putting fairness above national security, have infiltrated everything from the military to the police, fire departments…and even the secret service.

Recently, the secret service suffered its latest in a series of embarrassing episodes when 42 year old Omar J. Gonzalez, a decorated vet who served in Iraq, jumped the White House fence. Originally, it was believed that he had only made it to the front door. As has since been discovered, however, Gonzalez actually made it far further than initially reported. As detailed by CBS News, the infiltrator ran through the front doors and entrance hall, past the steps that lead up to Obama’s family residence, and wasn’t stopped until he made it to the East Room.

According to CBS, as Gonzalez made his way to the East Room, he was “…confronted by a female Secret Service agent, who he overpowered.” Would he have been able to overpower a male secret service agent? We’ll never know for sure, and can debate that point endlessly with no real resolution. The far more important question, however, is what was she doing there in the first place? If, out of all the potential candidates, she was genuinely the most qualified for the job, then more power to her: she was the best person for the job, and we can assume that any guy in that situation would also have failed to stop an armed intruder.

If, on the other hand, she was not the most qualified candidate for the job, but simply the most qualified female, and got the nod over a more qualified male simply to appease activists, then we’ve already gone too far down a very dangerous road. We’ve now begun jeopardizing the lives of our president, his family, those who work for him, and the well-being of our entire nation (a presidential assassination would have ramifications on the stock market, national defense, our standing in the global community, etc.), for the sake of political correctness.

Outspoken liberals are determined to reshape our society into one in which fairness rises above all; where assigning tasks equally trumps assigning tasks to those most qualified. If we continue along this path, the safety and strength of our country will continue to weaken, until eventually our equality will also be our demise.
