9 Reasons Why Staying In Is the New Going Out

Going out all the time can become very draining. Sometimes, it’s okay to switch it up and stay inside with the real homies. Going out can literally mean going out to the deli to get a club sandwich, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

1. You actually like spending quality time with your friends and having interesting conversations.

Why would you want to spend time with them in a place where doing so is nearly impossible? It’s extremely loud at the club and you can’t hear what anyone is saying. It’s great to at least have a balance between going out and staying in. If you stay in every once in awhile, you will bond a lot more with the people in your life. If you wanted, you could have a house party with your friends. You can choose the music, buy cheap drinks, and you can have an assortment of snacks. You will be completely in control of your environment if you choose to stay in.

2. It’s a great weekend when you’re not required to talk to anyone.

No one will invade your personal space. When you go out, the places you go tend to be extremely crowded. People will end up touching you, stepping on your toes with their heels, and/or spilling their drink on you. What an absolute mess. It’s important to have “me” time in your life and have a luxurious night in by yourself.

3. It’s way more comfortable to wear sweats and stay in.

When you go out, you have to wear those painful shoes and squeeze into an outfit. It’s way more convenient to chill and not worry about dressing a certain way. Let’s be real, the concept of binge-watching your favorite show on Netflix will always hold more appeal than heading out to a bar. Give yourself a break every once in awhile and chill.

4. You can avoid crowds.

Just the thought of being around a ton of sweaty people dancing can make a girl cringe. It’s even worse when these people are uncontrollably drunk. Like come on, you would way rather be alone or with friends in peace and quiet of your own home. You won’t have to see the grinding on the dance floor or deal with the pushing and shoving from others at the club. You don’t have to worry about a ton of people ruining your night by being in your way.

5. Save your money for something important.

All of those drinks are so damn expensive. It’s always the worst when you wake up hungover super early in the morning and realize that your bank account has decreased by a significant amount. No one has time for that. If you really want to, you can still get drunk at home or at a house party, where drinks are cheaper (and maybe free). It will save you in the long run. Sometimes, the clubs and bar make you pay them just to enter their place. What a waste of money. It’s way more fun to spend your money on something you actually like.

6. The club doesn’t have food.

Everyone loves snacks, especially drunchies. If you stay in, you can order the food of your choice. Pizza, Chinese takeout or whatever you prefer. It’s all up to you. If you go out to a club with your friends, you have to deal with their food preferences and it usually devolves into a sh*t show. Leave the mess behind and have a gourmet meal.

7. No more making stressful plans.

Especially if you are in a group chat trying to figure out what the ACTUAL plans are tonight, it can make a night very hectic. Come on people, it’s not rocket science. You are just heading to the club and back. It’s way easier to figure something out at home.

8. You have already had a long week. Reward yourself with some time to relax.

If you are already tired from an exhausting week of hell, going to a club will only make you more fed up and sleep deprived. This is your time to do whatever you want. You can lie on the couch and pour yourself a glass of wine. You can even go to bed early and go out the next day. Just do yourself a favor and make time to chill after a crazy week at work.

9. You can do whatever your heart desires.

You’re not required to dance or look like you’re actually interested in the person talking to you. You don’t have to talk to creepy strangers. If you want, you can dance and get drunk at home. It’s way more ideal to do what YOU want to do.

Let’s be honest, the thought of getting ready to go out sounds like too much work and that’s the last thing you need.
