Summertime blues are heading our way as we are nearing August. Maybe you have not done all of the things you were hoping to do this Summer in June or the beginning of July. The good news is there is still time. Here are eight things you should do before this Summer comes to a close.
1. Meditate
It is not too late to grab introspection, a clear mental slate and some manifested optimism to take you through the dog days of Summer and into the Fall Season. Find a quiet place and make it a ten-minute timeout from your busy schedule and your beckoning devices. Check out the Calm App for some meditations that will set your intention for today and beyond.
2. Get On The Water
Any water sport will do. Maybe you want to try Stand Up Paddleboard or Sup Yoga? Kayaking or Surfing? Heck, a pool noodle can be considered a water sport. Just get outside and enjoy the sunshine and all that summer has to offer you. Just remember the sunscreen!
3. Have Cooling Foods
The Summer heat can slow us down and lethargy means FOMO amps up. Try cooling foods such as watermelon, cucumber, pineapple and mint. Avoid hot spices and take in more turmeric and citrus fruits. Making most meals salad-based will also keep you cool.
4. Summertime Picnic
Get outside and have a picnic to remember with your gal pals, bestie or beau. Easy-to-pack bento boxes help you easily pack your feast while keeping the mess away. Some summer wine or sangria, and your favorite foods will pair well with good company.
5. Exercise Early
An early run, hike or morning yoga will wake up the body before temperatures rise. So plan your workouts around the am before those zoom calls and meetings.
6. See A Concert
We were so isolated for years and concerts were canceled and missed. Now is the time to support your local band or favorite one coming into town. Whether it be a concert or festival, nothing screams summer more than a rocking night of music.
7. Get The Perfect Pedicure
Summer nail hues just hit different. Pastels and lots of shimmer will leave your toes sand pretty and sandal worthy.
8. Spend Your Evenings Outside
Summer only lasts a few months and the cool breeze will call you back inside soon enough. So have that bonfire, check out that drive-in, sit out on your patio for evening drinks and watch the fireflies. Sleep under the stars and take that evening stroll on the sand. Because Summer is the season for adventure, warm days and cool nights. A time for us to reset our minds and dream of what is next.
