13 Reasons You Won't Regret Dating a Bookworm

There is something special about a girl who loves the smell of paper stitched together and could spend her days cuddled up on the couch with a cup of coffee and a book in her lap.

Dating a girl who loves a good novel means she open-minded, and still, believes in romance and understands that pain and heartache can occur at any moment.

Getting entwined with a girl who loves a book will be quite the adventure.

1) We’re a little bit of an over thinker. When we read so many different stories and really get into them we tend to start thinking about things a little deeper.

We compare situations to other situations, because reading requires a lot of thinking. So we easily transition that into our everyday lives.

2) When it comes to affection, expect sweet surprises.  We tend to get a little creative when it comes to gifts or little reminders that we are.

It could stem from something as small as a little note, a text with our favorite song lyrics or something as grand as a set of letters to open at different points in time.

We’re the ones who get lost in the romance of our novels and want to share that with someone else.

3) We’re open-minded to a lot of different things, including multiple genres. We don’t only read Nicholas Sparks, Emily Bronte or Dickenson. We have a broad range of genres and authors that we read, and on top of that we are open to suggestions.

We recognize when a book is a good book despite the type of story it has to tell.

4) Our text messages may come out to look like  novels. We understand the importance of shorthand and we enjoy emoticons like the next person however we love words and the things they can do, so sometimes when we send messages we may go a little overboard.

5) We never judge a book by its cover. In the metaphorical and literal sense, because chances are our favorite books may be tattered and look extremely worn.

Someone else may look at it and want to throw it away but we see the beauty behind it and are curious to the story inside it as well.

The same goes with people; we are never quick to judge by appearance and wait to get a glimpse of the entire story.

6) We’re hopeless romantics. We sincerely believe chivalry isn’t dead and there’s a fairytale out there for everyone.

We’ve seen it in the books we’ve read so it’s hard to let go of the idea that our prince charming is somewhere in the world waiting for us as well.

7) When it comes to “me” time, we understand the importance of it. You can’t always be together and we totally respect those boundaries. You have to do things by yourself, and for yourself.

We enjoy spending a few hours alone getting lost in our novel so we respect when there are things you want to do without us.

8) The book is always better than the movie.  Please don’t argue this one. For the love of everything holy, never ever try and tell us that the movie was better than the book, or that you don’t see the difference.

In fact just tell us you never read the book and it may save you a headache, it also will save a complete meltdown because we fully believe the book is always better than the movie.

9) If you read one of our favorite books after  we tell you about it, you have won over some major brownie points. Not only is it an extremely sweet gesture but it gives us something to talk to and it means you actually care about me and the things that are important to me.

10) Pick our brains, we love intellectual conversations. We have so much knowledge floating around our brains for all the tales we read that we genuinely have a lot to talk about.

We enjoy taking the information we’ve learned and sharing it with others but we also like to hear what you have to say. Chances are you may lead us to a new literary find.

11) We’re hopeless romantics. We’ve read so many different tales about love and heartbreak and love coming back that we can’t help but crave that kind of romance as well.

We want to share this with someone else so you never have to worry about not feeling like you’re loved.

12) In matters of the heart, we get attached easily. We fall in love with characters, we hate others and we go through an emotional roller coaster with each tale we read. This means we get attached to actual people just as easily because we choose to see the good in everyone.

13) We love a little mystery. Life will never be dull with us, just like Alice when she followed the white rabbit, we’re curious.

We also like to have a little fun so we can’t wait to see where the next road takes us.
