Valentine’s Day sucks. There, I said it. And it is always a tough holiday. Even if you are in a relationship. That is because you usually wind up putting too much pressure and expectation on your better half. And all because of this silly Hallmark holiday that commercialism has brainwashed you into thinking matters.

Let’s face it. Valentine’s Day is great excuse for us girls be at our worst, emotionally.

Here are 14 reasons Valentine’s Day sets us up for heartache.

1.) Valentine’s Day sucks because it sets unreasonable expectations. If you just started dating someone, do you celebrate this? Maybe one of you is more into it than the other?

2.) When you have been together awhile, your partner missing this amazing opportunity to shower you with affection can make you question every other day of the year with this person. Makes sense. Not. At. All.

3.) You want to go out with your honey and you are both into it, but every dinner is prix fixed and extra pricey.  Don’t go broke over it.

4.) You resent every year no-one stepped up on the holiday to show them you are their true love. Hopeless Romantic, anyone? (Raises hand).

5.) What do you get him? After all, its not just about you….(oh yeah).

6.) You have not said the L word to each other yet and you are hoping this is the day and it passes. And that is because it is just like any other day and guess what, you are not yet there in your relationship. I know, I know.
