29 Compliments We'd Rather Hear Than 'You're So Pretty'

We put so much emphasis on physical appearance. We focus so much on our looks that we completely ignore and forget about what really matters: what's on the inside.

Raw. I want to be real. Vulnerable. The real me.

Conscientious. I want to always consider the consequences of my decisions and how it'll affect others. I want to always be thinking of others. Selfless.

Open-minded. I definitely have my own values and beliefs, but I am not going to be the one who forces those upon anyone. I want to be open to hearing different perspectives without judging others for what they believe, think or how they live.

Intoxicating. I want you addicted. I want to be that girl you cannot forget. I want you to crave my presence. I want to be that temptation you can never refuse.

StrongWhat I am referring to is internal, mental and emotional strength. I want to carry myself with my head held high and be able to conquer whatever life throws at me. I want to face my problems head on instead of running away from them. I want to grow through life's battles instead of avoiding them like a coward.

Intelligent. “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” -Eleanor Roosevelt. I want to be intelligent, not only with what I’ve learned in school. Knowledge is power. The knowledge I have and will acquire is something no one can ever take away from me. I want to captivate the minds of others with the words I speak and the things I know.

Captivating. I want to steal your breathe away with one look.

Funny. I want to be the girl who can make other people laugh without trying and who has witty comebacks faster than you can blink. I want to be a joy in other people’s lives. I believe that laughter truly is the best medicine.

Flawed. I’m far from perfect and I will not pretend to be either. I have billions of imperfections and negative traits. I struggle and make mistakes on a daily just like everyone else. I’m not going to pretend like I don’t or try to cover them up, because my mistakes don’t define me.

Empathetic. I want to feel your pain. I want to see the world through your perspective, so that I can help you. "True empathy requires that you step outside your own emotions to view things entirely from the perspective of the other person." -Anonymous.

Creative. I want to be the one who's always thinking outside of the box. I want to offer the world my new ideas, opinions, methods and imagination.

Magnetic. I want others to feel drawn to me. I want to be intriguing. I want something to be different about me that they realize at first glance.

Authentic. I don't want anyone to ever question whether I'm being genuine or truthful.

Reckless. I want to be unpredictable. Crazy. Thrilling. I want live life on the edge. I want to always keep you guessing, your heart rapidly pounding and your blood rushing.

Humble. Recently, I’ve come to realize that pride is one powerful and evil drug. I want to recognize my strengths and capabilities, but I don't want to be conceited or boastful. I don’t want to allow compliments or successes get to my head.

Loving. "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." -Lao Tzu. Every time my name is mentioned, I want my warmth and tenderness to come to mind.

Fascinating. I don’t want to be boring. I want to attract other’s attention through my personality and outlook on life. I want to be free-spirited, reckless and full of life.

Philanthropic. I want to have a grateful heart. I want to give more than I receive.

Kind. Kind words cost nothing." -Anonymous. I want to be respectful. I want to be more aware of my own words, thoughts and actions to avoid hurting others. I want to be sensitive to people's feelings. I want to do things for others out of the kindness of my heart. I want to prove that there is still good in humanity.

Independent. I want to do things on my own. If I depend on others, I'll only be disappointed. I do not want to have to need anyone. I have always hated asking people for anything. I would rather do it all on my own. It may be tough and challenging at times, but it is much more rewarding in the end.

Hardworking. I want to work hard because nothing worth having comes easy. Hard work pays off. I want to be challenged. I don't want any handouts.

Exemplary. "The task of a leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been." -Henry Kissinger. I want to be original. I want to stand out. I want to be a leader rather than a follower.

Inspiring. "I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say,' Because of you, I didn't give up.'" -Chanda Kaushik. I want to be the person who makes people feel alive. I want to inspire others to be nobody but themselves. I want to help people discover their passions and motivate them to set them on fire. I want to fill people’s hearts and souls with positive vibes and make them believe that they are somebody. I want everybody to know that they are loved, valued, and important. There isn’t a soul on this Earth who doesn’t deserve the world and I strive to make sure nobody forgets that.

Passionate. "If you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it full speed. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it, and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good." -Ronald Dahl. I want everyone to know what I'm truly passionate about.
