People may think that an introvert & extrovert are from two totally different planets. The extrovert craves social interaction while the introvert often needs a break from social situations. But at the end of the day, both will provide balance to each other's lives.
Here is how an extrovert & introvert make great friends:
1. They’ll encourage each other to try new things.
The introvert will prefer to spend time at home or at a quiet cafe. The extrovert will prefer to spend time at a party. Sometimes, you just need a little balance. The introvert and extrovert will help each other come out of their comfort zones. It’s a win-win.
2. Conversations run incredibly well.
Introverts are known for being excellent listeners, while extroverts tend to be more talkative. The extrovert will love the attention of the introvert while the introvert will prefer to listen rather than speak.
3. Both will learn compromise.
Their friendship can be challenging. They might both have completely different ideas on how to spend a Friday night. Making plans together can suck. But both will learn that it’s not always about them and that some compromise can be good for them, all while encouraging them to get out of their comfort zones!
4. An introvert can show an extrovert the benefits of alone time.
Sometimes you just need to see things from a new perspective. An introvert can show that being alone doesn’t have to equal loneliness or boredom. There are tons of things that you can only do on your own, many of which are productive.
5. An extrovert can encourage an extrovert to get out of the house more often.
Sometimes the introvert needs some support to go to that party on campus. Having a friend makes it a lot easier. The extroverted friend can accompany you and show you that social interaction can be a lot of fun.
