5 Ways to Get Active Without Hitting Up the Gym.

Let's face it, sometimes you just don't have the time, energy or motivation to get in a good workout! –Especially if it requires you to get out of the house and drive all the way to the gym.

And then we all know we get the pre-workout anxiety or 'jitters,' that someone we know may be there at the same time! (Obviously judging our every move!)

So here are 5 productive things to do in order to get up and moving, without actually working out!

#1- Clean the house:

I know, I know! Cleaning isn't very enjoyable or your first choice. But it's a good way to get off your butt and get stuff done. Turn on some music, throw on and old t-shirt and get sweepin' honey!

Trust me, your freshly cleaned house and laundry will thank you.

#2- Go for A Long Walk at the Park:

Every bit of exercise counts! So whether you go for a quick 20 min walk around your neighborhood or an hour long walk trough the woods at your local park, it's still great for your body! And it's also extremely therapeutic for your mind and soul. Sometimes all you need is a long walk and fresh air to relax your mind and clear up stress in your life that has your peace clouded.

#3- Yoga those blues away:

Yoga is one of the most beneficial forms of exercise one can do. It's wonderful for your body and mind. And it's very instrumental in restoring balance to the nervous system, digestive track, muscular flexibility, and ultimately strengthening for the entire body. Yoga also releases feel good hormones which make your day 10x better! Not the mention, it's a good way to get in a good stretch when you're experiencing tension in any area of your body.

#4- Go Shopping!:

This one's a fun one! Whether you go alone or decide to invite a few girl friends to tag along, shopping is a great way to get some walking time in, while doing something you enjoy! And who knows maybe you'll even get to stop by a smoothie shop and enjoy a yummy, healthy pick-me-up!

#5- Go Swimming!

Now that summer's approaching, the warmer weather is finally coming around! So grab your favorite bikini, call up some friends, and go out swimming for the day! Swimming is not only a good workout, but it's very heart healthy and highly effective in toning up "problem areas" around your glutes, hips, and abdominal area. So go for it!
