“Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs, the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.???
I have to start off with the fact that I have the greatest friends a person could ever ask for. We are all dysfunctional in our own ways and we all have our own personalities that we bring to the table. Which is why I think we all get along so well, because there is never a dull moment when we’re all together.
People come and go in your life daily and certain people are placed there for a reason. I fully believe all of you were placed on this planet to be more than just friends but the family I needed. Which may suck for you because you are all stuck with me for life now. The bond has been cemented down and nothing is going to break it, so you should just fully embrace it.
You guys are the first individuals that I want to tell when something amazing has happened, or when my day has gone to hell. You’re there with Kleenexes and liquor if I’m sad and need a distraction, open arms when I’m feeling down and listening ears when I need to vent.
You put up and even participate in my weekend shenanigans. In fact there is rarely hesitation when I throw an idea out of something we should try even if it’s out the ordinary. You respond to my memes with other memes, which always leads to entertaining conversations. Snapchat filters have become a thing of our tribe, and I’m always looking forward to the newest creation.
You save me from my own thoughts, especially when I over think everything; you all bring me back into focus. We don’t even have to be out doing anything spectacular and I already know the worlds out for a surprise. You all endure my obsessions and don’t judge my bad habits.
All of you are the epitome of what a true friend should be like. No I’m not just saying all of these things to butter you guys up either, so don’t get a big ego, I know all of you. I for one value all the times we spend together and all the memories that we are continuing to create.
The future is always so uncertain. Heck I can’t even decide what to eat for dinner most of the time, which by the way I appreciate someone else handling that decision because if it were left up to me, you know we would all starve right? There is one thing though that I am 100% about, and that is that I have found the group of people that will stay in my world for a lifetime. Whether near or far I know that I always have someone to turn no matter what.
Which is reciprocated, I promise to always be there when you guys need a shoulder to cry on, someone to take that last shot with at closing time, the person to drive around aimlessly because Spotify has all the good music playing and we just don’t want to stop listening to it. I promise to remind each and every one of you how wonderful you are when you’re struggling to remember it yourself. I also promise to tell you when you’re being irrational and give it to you in the sweetest blunt way as possible.
You’ll never have to worry about not having someone in your corner because no matter what I will always be there. Even if I disagree or don’t understand I’m still going to be right there with you, but don’t worry I’ll voice my opinion, you all know this already.
So I can’t wait to see what our next adventure entails, and the many moments that we all still have left to come. This adulating thing is really hard, and it’s not always the most exciting thing to do but with a tribe like mine it makes the journey totally worth it.
