A Reluctant Goodbye to a Legendary Family, The Obamas

"Don't ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious & hope can take on a life of its own." -First Lady Michelle Obama

"We did not come to fear the future. We came to shape it." -President Barack Obama

Thank you for everything you've done for this country.

In exactly one week's time, America will have a new President, and honestly, it scares me because he is not the person most fit for the job.

Thank you for truly caring.

When I voted for the first time ever in 2008, it wasn't even a question for me.

As a registered Democrat, it was easily assumed I'd vote that way and because Barack was the candidate I did.

I gladly voted for him again in 2012.

I wish that third terms were allowed because I don't think I'm ready to say goodbye.

Eight years went by awful fast.

If the Obama's ever were to stumble upon this article, which, let's be real, is unlikely, I think the thing I would like to thank them the most for is for being the best role models.

America is in turmoil over this years election and whether people are Democratic or Republican shouldn't matter.

The Obama's legacy began when the first ever African American family won the white house.

But the legacy of the first family continued as Barack made American better, or at least as better as he could.

And behind every great man is an even greater woman.

The only first lady to be very involved, at least, as far as I'm aware.

From starting 60 minutes of play, to going to CVS with Ellen, and everything in between, she's proven that she's an incredible mother, wife, First Lady and person.

In a weird way, the Obama's have kind of felt like my family.

Barack is everything a dad should be, supportive, loving, and playful. Everything any young boy or girl would want.

Michelle is the same as a mother.

Malia and Sasha are two lucky girls.

All I can say is thank you, honestly and truly, for everything you've done for America. Thank you for the lasting legacy you've created for generations to come.

I'm so incredibly thankful and fortunate to have been living and old enough during the Obama Presidency to understand how wonderful this legacy is.

There never has been or will be another President/Presidential family like the Obamas.

I'll also miss Barack and Joe's bromance and Michelle's style.

Thank you and I'll honestly, truly miss you.
