Maybe I became too over bearing and misinterpreted where I stood with you. Maybe I was more into you than you were me. But maybe, you just don’t know how to respond to being treated correctly.

Opening up is such a scary feeling. You have another side of you that you don’t want anyone to see or know of. You understand that things can change within seconds. The fear of rejection and feeling of being left vulnerable is unbearable.
Life is full of unknown possibilities. You can feel like you have it all together one second, and then things take a left turn and you feel like you got the wind knocked out of you. You want to scream or cry, maybe punch a wall, but don’t. Because those will be the times that I will be right here with my arms open to comfort you, and make you realize that it’ll all be okay.
I can’t give you much, because as a broke college student, I don’t have much to give. But I can keep the promises I make you, which you will never find left empty or half full.

I promise not to rush you, and to let you move at your own doing. You can go so slow the tortoise wins the race again. Learning to let someone in can be unsettling, because that person will slowly start to acquire everything about you, you’re left feeling vulnerable, and honestly, I know that scares the hell out of you. I promise to go at whatever pace makes you comfortable, and is easier for you. Even if it takes months, or a year, as long as I’m the one on your mind at night, everything will be okay.
I’ll help you find who you are, so you can decide if you want to be him or not. Life is better when you have someone beside you.
I’ll kiss away all your fears and struggles. Tell me your goals and dreams so I can help you reach them, and you can be who it is you want to be.
If you’ve had a bad day at work, come to me, and I’ll pull up a seat and let you vent, and agree on everything you have to say.
I’ll steal your t-shirts, and look 10x better in them than you ever would
When you are stubborn and won’t listen to a word I say, I’ll still be here, talking and wasting my breath.
When you decide to push me away, I’ll try and pull you even closer. And at the times when things get rough, don’t expect me to run, because I won’t.
When you drive me insane, I’ll be there driving you ten times madder.
Call me at 3 am to come get you because you’re so drunk you think I’m pretty, and I’ll be there the next morning when you wake up.
Whenever you feel like giving up, I’ll be there to pick you back up, to set you straight and show you that whatever has got you down, isn’t worth it.
I’ll pray for you every night, and ask God that He blesses your life more and more each day.
I’ll be there to like you on the days that you don’t like yourself, and remind you how special you really are.
I won’t let you go to bed angry or upset, because that’s no way to get your beauty sleep.
I promise to absolutely annoy the ever-loving shit out of you, and tickle you until you can’t breathe.
I’ll keep you smiling and laughing like you were a little kid again.
I won’t be scared to pick a fight with you, because you aren’t always right, and I’m not afraid to bite back, and tell you how I feel. I have a backbone too.
You will face so many demons in your life, let me face them with you. Let me help you fight them off so you won’t have to go at them by yourself, because no one should.
I’ll trust you, and keep you safe, so even when your guard is down, you won’t have continuously look out for yourself, I’ve got you.
When I tell you I’m there no matter what, I mean it.
Most importantly, I promise to be your friend above all else. I promise not to run when things get bad, because I have demons too. I promise to always hold your hand, and remind you that you’re an being an ass. I don’t give up easily, so I don’t expect you to either.
You’ve never asked for any of these things, and knowing you, you never would, but you should see not all people are the same. Not everyone will make you feel stupid for letting them take up your time.
