There are three things you don’t do.

Beg for anyone to stay in your life.

You’re better than that, you are worth more than that.
If he makes you feel like an option that does not mean you are one. If he runs once things get too real, that’s his problem, not yours.
This era of casual dating has taught guys to have backups, to guard their hearts, and not allow themselves to get too invested just in case things don’t work out, he’ll have someone else to fall back on. Someone to pick up his pieces so he doesn’t have to. But you deserve more than that.
You don’t deserve to have to make excuses for and sacrifice your standards for someone who doesn’t think twice about talking to another girl. All of a sudden ‘label-less’ is in and ‘defining the relationship’ is out. If you want to label it and feel 100% secure in your relationship, you have every right to do so.
And if he’s not down for that, you’ll walk away just fine because you’re better than to beg to have someone stay in your life. Speaking your mind and voicing your opinions is something you will never give up, especially when it comes to love.
Because truthfully, it all comes back to you.
You can’t wait forever for someone to choose you. You won’t treat someone like a priority while they’re treating you like an option. You have to choose yourself. You have to be determined to always choose yourself, otherwise, you’ll be giving this other person too much power.
You deserve a love that is true to you, one that makes sure you know you are irreplaceable and if it makes you feel anything less than that, it’s just not for you.
Like Atticus said, “You’re too good for someone who isn’t sure about you.”
If he’s not committed to getting to know you and only you, you should feel absolutely no guilt in walking away. It doesn’t matter what modern dating deems ‘cool,’ what matters is what makes you happy, what makes you feel secure and comfortable every day.
If you find yourself fighting for someone to be in your life, it’ll only be when you know damn well they’ll be fighting for you, too.
