I am a self diagnosed Pinterest addict. Yes, folks like many other woman in the world I struggle to stay off Pinterest. I can tell you way to much of my life has been stolen from me by my addiction. To be honest I really can't help but want to explore the many things Pinterest has to offer me through out the day. Pinterest is a wonderful, crafty website that tricks you into believing you're capable of DIYs, recipes and fitness. I first started my Pinterest account a couple years ago, so I consider myself a Pinterest veteran of sorts.
So as Usher once said "here are my confessions" of a Pinterest Addict.
- I am currently sitting here writing this article while staring at my Pinterest
It instantly hooks you in and before you know it, you’re a 14 year-old girl planning out her future wedding. I already know what kind of back splash I want for my future home all because of Pinterest. I can't seem to help myself even now when I have other things to do in my day or night or occasionally both. I always seem to pop on from time to time just to see if something new has arrived. That may lead to the next confession of a Pinterest addict.
- I have an addiction to this site mostly because it gives me way to many ideas
I am no great and skillful maker of things. But when I look through Pinterest and even more so the DIY I like to believe that I am. The amount of times I have tried to take an idea off this site and make it my own or even just copy it to have in my home is unreal. Although Pinterest sometimes gets me in over my head and runs up the bill at my local craft store, I still love it.
- Foods of Pinterest
Need I really say more about this? I mean seriously the amount of recipes off this site is so unreal. Say your hosting a party like I will be in the future and it is practically planned for you. Which leads to confession 4 of a Pinterestolic.
- You can plan anything with little to no effort (or at least get all the ideas in one place)
The website can be a huge help and has tips that can organize your thoughts. By just searching "college" there are recommendations on what to pack, what courses to take and how to have a productive semester. Want to plan your dream wedding? Done. Want to plan home decore for a house or apartment? Done. Need crockpot food ideas because you have no time to actually cook? You guessed it. Done.
The biggest thing about Pinterest that has addicted me this much is the fact of variety. I can find food, make up, clothing, DIY, wedding, organization, home decor, and so much more. Your looking for an idea about a topic? Search it and I bet at least one hundred things come up about it in some way. This is nice, but I tend to get distracted easily on Pinterest. One second I’m pinning an article called, “Wake Up & Be Productive!” And, the next second, I’m looking at “Simple Nail Art You Can Do With a Toothpick.” And just so you know, it is by no means “simple.”
- I store one to many thing on my Boards
I store a lot of ideas on my boards on my Pinterest. 230 things in food alone. Wedding ideas are up to 285! Not counting boards about barn/horse things, artful tattoos, house, riding exercise, riding fitness, crockpot meals, photography, home gym, house warming party, and things I want in my new house. Which leads to my last and most embarrassing confession.
- I send my boards to people hoping they get the hint
I am probably the worst daughter, friend, or girlfriend anyone could have. Seriously I share boards like people are going to buy me Christmas gifts, house warming ideas, or get the hint at some point I would like to get married.
Moral of the confessions I spend way to much time, energy, and effort sitting on this site to look at randomly selected photos. So thank you, Pinterest. You may make me feel incompetent at times, but you also let me organize my thoughts. As a scattered brain mess, I need you in my life.
