In Times of Grief, Your True Friends Will Help You Heal

A true forever friend will take care of you in life’s darkest moments when clouds of grief threaten to overwhelm you.

Losing someone you loved with your entire being turns you into a different person. Your life’s timeline gets divided into moments that happened before and after their death.

Your best friend is the person who'll help you pick out a funeral dress when you can barely drag yourself out of bed.

She'll sit in the dark with you and let you cry, scream, and cuss without trying to put a positive spin on everything that's happening.

She won’t back away when you're angry at the world or hold it against you when you lash out and say things you later regret.

Instead, she'll hold your hand. She'll curl up next to you in bed some days, others she'll force you to get up and face the world.

Although life will never be the same after a loss, one day it will beautiful again.  And when that day comes, she'll still be right by your side.

When you're finally able to see the light in life again, she'll bring you all the sunshine and rainbows she can summon.

She'll have your back for years to come, not just while your grief is fresh.

Because her love is unwavering.  She'll be there for you when you're broken and support you as you rebuild yourself. She'll guide you through the next steps in life because she loves the new person you've become.

If you have someone who loves you through the worst moments of your life and sticks around afterward, that's your best friend.
