She quit love for a while there. Too afraid to be left in pieces again by another heartless guy, unable to trust his intentions completely and truly, not allowing herself to be vulnerable enough to open her heart up to another person.
She'd been there and done that and it was all for nothing.
That’s why when she did meet someone new, she contained her feelings… or at least tried to. She guarded her heart with walls she built in her mind, tall and strong. And she kept her hopes down because the higher the hope, the harder the fall, right?
But when it comes to big-hearted girls like her, she can't help but fall hard and fast without even realizing. She’s only known him for a hot second and doesn’t want to care about him as much as she does… but she can't help it.
She doesn’t want to get attached because what if he just leaves? What if he’s just as heartless as all the other guys from her past and he’s just going to break her heart too? These questions terrify her but she wants so badly to feel comfortable and in love again.
And before she knows it his name is written a hundred times all over her heart.
She doesn’t know how to do anything halfway. She commits or she doesn’t. She either has feelings or she doesn’t. She can’t create something that isn’t there and she can’t erase the feelings that are there. She loves hard and unapologetically, with every ounce of her being.
So she lets herself fall, she puts her heart in the hands of someone else because it's a lot more fun than always thinking 'what if.'
Her head says protect herself, but her heart says this time it will be different… so she takes the risks and hopes for the best because this battle between her head and her heart can only go on for so long before one of them wins for good.
