My New Years Resolution

res·o·lu·tion

?rez??lo?oSH(?)n/

noun

noun: resolution; plural noun: resolutions

  1. 1.
a firm decision to do or not to do something.

So here we are again

Bringing back the cliche saying: “New Year, New Me!”

But why is it that we never stick to our resolutions? Why do we go to the gym for 2 weeks then quit? Or, eat healthy for 3 days, and then order a pizza?

There’s a very simple answer

no one likes change

Change comes with uncertainty

We change our lives and have no idea what’s going to happen next

Change comes with surprises

Good, and bad (kinda seems like more bad than good)

Change comes with criticism

People will judge your lifestyle change, and you’ll lose people

But I’ve realized that it’s time to forget these things, and actually stick to the, “New Year, New Me!” It’s time to stick to my plan and not give up, not be lazy, not lose faith.

This year I will be happy.

I’ve allowed myself to be unhappy for so long, that I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be genuinely happy.

so

new year

new me

Be selfish for once, focus on yourselves. Stop trying to make everyone happy when you, yourself, are not.

This year I will be braver.

I’m going to make decisions regardless of what people may think of them, and I’m going to be happy with them.

I’m not going to allow myself to be scared of what people will think of me.

so

new year

new me

This year I will be stronger.

I’m finally letting go of the people who have hurt me, and fiercely leaving them in my past.

so

new year

new me

This is my year, I will take it and run.

It’s time to stick to our resolutions.

Be happy, brave and strong.

be a new you
