Read This When You Feel Like You're Not Good Enough

“Recognize that every day won't be sunny, and when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair, remember it's only in the black of night you see the stars.” – Coach Whitey Durham, One Tree Hill

We all have those days where we don’t feel like we are good enough for anyone or anything. For some, it can last from a few hours to a few days to a few weeks. For others, it sends them spiraling into a depression, which makes it that much harder to come back from.

Maybe you studied really hard for an exam and you didn’t get a good grade. Maybe someone told you they didn’t like something about you. Maybe you got dropped from sorority recruitment (once or twice) and it left you wondering, “What was it about me that they didn’t like?” Because that was what I always wondered my first two years of college.

Some days, it can be a bunch of little things that stack up and makes you feel like the world is against you. Or maybe you’ve reached your breaking point and it just seems like nothing will ever get better.

To that I can tell you that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. One day things will fall into place and you can look back on these times and think, “If I made it through that, I can make it through anything.” Some days you’ll think you won’t be able to make it through, but you will. The sun always sets and it will always rise again.

The thing is, no matter what, you will always be good enough. You will always be good enough to yourself and you cannot deny yourself that happiness. One day you will look back and realize you wouldn’t be the same person if you didn’t have the hard times too.

Yes, it’s tough now, especially when you wake up wondering how you can change yourself to make yourself enough. But here’s the truth, you were, are, and will always be good enough.

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise and dull your sparkle, because anyone who says you’re not enough, has to stomp on you to make themselves feel as if they are enough too. You don’t need that negativity in your life.
