Sippin' on the Mom Juice: A Drinking Game for Your Child's School Musical

Whether you look forward to going to your child’s school musical or dread it, I think everyone can agree it can be a stressful experience.

This year, take the stress out by turning it into a drinking game. Throw a flask in your purse, make your husband drive, and get ready for the best school musical of your life.

Before the musical

Take a drink every time your child asks what time it is or asks if you can leave yet (you don’t want to be late).

Take a drink every time your daughter changes her clothes, or every time you have to tell your son to put on something nicer.

Take a drink for every minute you arrived unnecessarily early.

During the musical

Take a drink every time your child waves to you after the first time. (We aren’t going anywhere).

Take a drink every time you catch yourself laughing because someone forgot the words.

Take a drink every time something absolutely adorable happens.

Take a drink every time a younger sibling asks how much longer.

Take a drink every time said younger sibling tries to run onto the stage, locks himself in the bathroom, or leaves the auditorium while you’re not looking and wanders around the school. (These things really happen).

Take a drink every time you look at your watch.

After the musical

Take a drink for every friend your child stops to talk to on the way out.

Take a drink every time your child asks how they did.

Take a drink every time they ask what your favorite part was (and you can’t say the part it finished).

Finish it off, the moment you realize that your child will never be this young again and your heart fills up so much it comes out of your eyes.

No matter if you love or hate these yearly musicals, you love your child and you when they are older you will cherish these moments forever.
