After watching Lady Gaga's Half Time performance I was in awe. I thought it was spectacular, and it was the best show we've seen in years!
But, as always, the internet has to ruin everything…
Once going on Twitter and seeing all the people shaming her I felt sick to my stomach.
People saying:
“Gaga has a GUT”
"I couldn't pay attention to her performance her stomach was too distracting"
"She's fat"
“Look at that flabby stomach and those hips”
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!
How anyone can say with a straight face that Lady Gaga is fat makes me want to crawl in a hole and never come out..
Especially when Gaga speaks up for women and PROMOTES positive body image and tries to help everyone accept themselves!
Gaga herself has struggled with body image since she’s a teenager!
How can people try and tear down someone who’s done nothing but try and give her fans strength and bravery to stand up to the bullies and accept themselves and others?
It is 2017 why isn't everyone more accepting of others?!
On what planet is a size 2 or 4 "overweight"!? And EVEN if she was “overweight” what in the world does that have to do with her performance or her talent?! Last time I checked if you’re talented your looks have no impact on that.
This shaming has got to stop! This is why women struggle so hard with body image. Because we are told someone of Lady Gags's size is not "healthy."
We need to spread love, and put hateful and shameful comments to bed. There is enough hate and horrible things going on in the world, let’s not add to it! Help put a stop to this madness and compliment those around you. We need to help spread her message of self-love and acceptance cause “baby, you were born this way!”
To all the little monsters out there and everyone else you’re beautiful, and don’t let anyone tell you any different! x
