This Is How You Know You're Definitely Not Getting Enough Sleep

It happens to all of us. We lay in bed scrolling through social media, catching up on our shows, and we look down and it’s 2:12 am and we have to be up in 4 hours. We have our phones set to ‘night mode’ but that seems to be doing nothing. “Blue lights keep you awake” my ass. No, that’s actually probably true, but still, isn’t fixing the issue at hand: you're definitely not getting enough sleep

We put aside time for looking at the latest memes, getting up to date on the news, and online shopping but why is it that when it comes to sleep we take it for granted?

Our bodies need rest. We take our phones to Starbucks and buy ourselves a coffee and plug our phones into recharge but we're the ones who need to recharge. Caffeine is a great ‘right now’ fix, but in the long run it’s only going to run us down more

No matter where you’re from or what you’re doing, life is hectic. It’s organized chaos on a good day and a hot mess on a bad day.

So it makes sense why 11 pm seems to come up way faster than it used to. We get those “oh my gosh it’s 11 already?” moments way too often.

So here’s to giving ourselves a full 8 hours. Here’s to napping in our cars in the middle of the day because we’re damn exhausted.

Let’s vow to complain about everything other than being tired. When we get enough sleep we have the ability to be our best selves, to wake up refreshed and ready to slay another day.

We need to be shamelessly selfish when it comes to our sleep because it’s quite possibly the most important part of our day.
