To My Bestie, I've Been Such a Flake Lately but I Still Love You

I know I’ve been more than a little unavailable as of late.

It’s not that I don’t want to hang with you. It’s really not. I’d love to see you.

It’s just hard with my schedule right now.

Is that another excuse? Like all the times I bail last minute on our plans or tell half-hearted lies like I overslept, which we both know is not true.

I can’t even tell anymore.

It’s easier to justify my absolute lameness than admit I’m being a 20-something grandma.

To be honest, I may have become a little boring.

At night, I’d rather go home to a cup of tea and watch some trash TV while being pants-less in my bed than go out and do anything.

If you want to join in on that fun, then by all means…

I’m also a little money conscious right now.

As much as I’d love to meet up for drinks or dinner or catch a movie with you, I can’t be spending so flippantly anymore.

Adulting. I know. It sucks.

Which I’m sure you can relate to, too. We’re both in the same boat.

Does that make me a horrible friend because I’m not willing to cough up $10 to hang out with you, but you’d do so for me?

Maybe I am.

Just know that I love you, and know that I’m aware I’ve been a super flake recently. I’ll work on it.

I don’t mean to be a bad friend, I just get caught up in my own little world sometimes.

Maybe you can relate to that, too.

Anyways, girl, I promise I’ll see you soon.
