To My Future Hubby, I Can't Wait to Be Your Other Half

Dear Future Hubby,

Let me start by telling you I waited a long time for you.

I had my share of heartbreaks and moments where I thought I was doomed to be a lonely cat lady.

They were all worth it, even the empty calories I consumed in wine and ice cream once you came into my life.

I can’t wait to not have to worry about who my plus one is going to be or those awkward family conversations about why I haven’t found the right one.

Obviously I’ve been waiting for you and that’s all I know.

I used to think that being young and finding out who you were and enjoying life were the best moments but the best journey is just beginning because for the rest of my life I know I will get to experience all of these wonderful life moments with my best friend.

I hope you’re ready to face everything life has to bring us with an open mind and an open hand because I’ll always be right beside you.

I know I wasn’t always there; there were things you had to go through by yourself.

There were moments that you probably were sad and alone and didn’t think you had anyone to turn to.

I promise that will never be the case anymore.

You will always have someone to listen even if I don’t have the right words to say I promise to always be by your side to listen and comfort you in any way possible.

There will have been other lovers before we found each other but they were just stepping stones until we were ready to be together.

I know times will not always be happy, there will be days where you irritate me and days that I irritate you.

There will be times where even when you’re always my best friend I don’t even want to see you. I promise to work through those days with you.

I didn’t get to experience all the things you’ve been proud of accomplishing so far but I can’t wait to hear about them.

I didn’t see your failures and see how you rebuilt yourself after each of them.

I wasn’t around when girls broke your heart and you didn’t think you could go on.

I wasn’t there to help you pick up the pieces but I’m so glad you did.

If we’re being honest my heart really hasn’t belonged to anyone else, it may have seemed like love but it doesn’t even compare to what I feel for you.

I lack in patience and am so indecisive and I know that is going to frustrate you our entire lives. I’ll wait patiently for you though. My heart has never been so sure of anything else.

I promise to be your biggest supporter, the best listener, to encourage you when you need it most and most importantly to be a friend.

I promise that when it gets tough I’ll be right there and I won’t give up. I will be the girl that makes you life so much easier because it’s just meant to be.

I promise to never to judge you for your past and to help you face your demons.

I promise to always be the woman I think you deserve. I promise to never give up on you.

When you’re weak you can always lean on me because I know I can lean on you. You see this isn’t just two people who fell in love, we’ll become a team.

We’ll be the best team out there.

I can’t wait to be the girl who drives you crazy but you couldn’t imagine coming home to anyone else.

Thank you for not giving up on me in advance, for constantly building up my self-esteem, for pushing me to reach for the stars, for taking me out of my comfort zone and for putting me first.

Thank you for loving me when I can’t love myself, for wiping away the tears and knowing there will be times I won’t have words but your arms will be all I need.

Thank you for showing me what real love actually looks and feels like.

Mostly thank you for being you because the man you are is everything I didn’t know I was looking for and I wouldn’t ask for anyone else to be by my side for the rest of my life.

<3 Your future Wifey

I am an avid lover of football, baseball, soccer, horror movies, selfies and napping. At a young age I loved reading and writing stories and connecting with people and from that sparked my endless rambling on about anything I can talk to others about. Writing is a huge passion of mine, it can bring so many different cultures and backgrounds together. If my writing reaches out to just one person and makes them feel better about themselves or the situation they are going through then it's worth every moment of vulnerability and putting yourself out there. Everyone struggles whether they vocalize it or internalize and sometimes you just need someone to relate to, or better yet someone to tell you that it's okay and things have to always get better. So just think of me as that friend who always has an open ear and attempts to help you make sense of it all.
