Out of all the people in this world, my mom is the one I most aspire to be like. She has been so unfalteringly strong since the day I was born, I can only hope that one day I grow up to be half the woman she is. Raising a child as a single mother is an uphill battle, but because of her unconditionally loving heart, she made it look easy. She is my best friend, my rock, my mother and father figure. I am forever grateful for every sacrifice she has made for me and for that, I owe her some thank you’s.
Thank you for guiding me through life even when you were feeling lost.
As a child, there are times when a girl just needs her dad, but that wasn’t an option for us. Even on the days when you had no clue how to help me you always figured out a way. Thank you for teaching me all the things my father never did. When you saw how heartbroken I was that my father never kept his promises, you worked extra hard to teach me what it means to actually keep a promise and be there no matter what.
Thank you for drying my tears and always giving me hope for brighter days.
Every time a girl cries over a boy her father is supposed to be the one to dry her tears when my father decided he didn’t want that job you dried my tears for me. When life got too hard and I wanted to quit, you helped me through it. You remedied every bad time I went through in life, and for that, I am forever thankful. You taught me how a parent is truly supposed to love their children. When big events came around you were the one to help me get ready, you were always in the pictures with me or behind the camera. You sat through countless competitions and meetings, went along with every crazy idea I ever had even when they scared you half to death.
Thank you for making me believe in myself and the power of true happiness.
You never failed to make me believe in the power of laughter when I felt like I would never smile again. For all the times you taught me the power of determination and a little elbow grease, I am grateful.I saw you get up every day and tackles life’s obstacles even when your heart was broken. You and your strength are the reason I can sit here today with a smile on my face and tackle whatever life throws at me.
Thank you for loving me twice as much as you had to.
When my dad left us I gave up on believing in love, but you never did. Even on the days you struggled to love yourself you always found a way to love me extra. I watched you battle with your own inner demons and struggle with the things life throws at you, even through all those things you never let that affect my life or the love you showed towards me.Because of you and your never-ending dedication, I see love and hope in this crazy scary world.
Mom, I don’t know what my life would be if I didn’t have you. You are everything to me and I hope you never forget it.
