It's quite insane, actually, how life has this way of working out and introducing you to people you didn't even know that you needed in your life.
In some situations, you start as strangers and gradually build a relationship, but in other situations, you start as strangers and instantaneously, within the snap of a finger, you're best friends.
That's exactly what happened here.
We were basically thrown in this four bedroom apartment together and forced to live together all because our roommate profiles were a "match." What crazy nonsense is that anyway?
I had no idea who you were, other than your name and that you occupied bedroom A. You could've been a serial killer for all that I knew, or worse, we could've hated each other with raging fury. But we took a chance and became the best of friends.
Our mutual weirdness combined to create this friendship, this bond, of never-ending laughter and endless fun. We started doing (literally) everything together, and that's what, ultimately, made this crazy world a whole lot crazier.
It's basically like we're siamese twins – always together and never a part (except, well, for ya know, school, work, sleeping and all that stuff).
We definitely don't ever let each other fail – we get into things we probably shouldn't together and we keep it 100 (like no, that guy at the club looks like a rat, stop dancing with him immediately).
If you're making yourself look like an idiot, I'll call you out but join in so that you aren't alone, but I know that you got my back too. You are my crazy ass sister from another mister, that's for sure.
I mean seriously – who else would I rather talk about awkward bodily functions with, trust enough to handle my boyfriend and all of his surprises, tell my deepest darkest dirty little secrets to, and trust with my life?
You were this short, sassy, strange little human with the sweetest personality, but I had no idea that I would end up needing you as much as I do, but there's no one else I'd rather have as my ride or die and my partner in crime.
It's been a crazy year and one hell of a ride, but you help keep me sane.
Shoutout to trusting weird ass roommate matching profiles: creating "homies" since 2015.
We've been through some weird shenanigans in the past months, and I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have survived without each other, but always know that I gotchu' boo.
