To The Strong Ones When They Feel Weak

“That’s the problem with being the strong one. No one offers you a hand.”   -m.t.

You are strong because your life has already taken you through a path some people may never know. It was winding and dark and honestly a little scary. But you didn’t have much of a choice.

So all you could do was suck it up and brave through. And when it started to clear, you became stronger than you could possibly imagine.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t times when your road gets a little bumpy. Or you get off track. The problem comes when you hold everything in.

You’ve become so used to dealing with things on your own, people don’t really know how to help you. Or they don’t even realize you need it.

At times it feels like you are reaching out for a hand that isn’t there. So you stay on the ground until the storm calms.

It sucks. It’s lonely. But you are so good at not letting it show.

So let me tell you this. Being strong sometimes means asking for help when you need it. Because admitting that life is giving you too much to handle on your own, doesn’t make you weak. It makes you human.

And it helps the ones close to you do what they are there to do. They are there to make sure you are not alone, and you find the light in the darkness. That’s if you let them in.

That’s if you take the hand they offer to you.

Because if you take that hand, it doesn’t mean you’ve given in or given up. Even if you think you can do it on your own, let those around you help. Lean on your friends and family.

I promise it will get better. You may even come out of it even stronger on the other side.

And just because you feel weak at the moment, doesn’t mean you lost all of the strength within you. You can’t lose the kind of strength you have; no matter how you feel at the moment.

It doesn’t go away like that.

It stays with you for life, even when you share a little bit with those around you.
