To Those Who've Forgotten the Power of Their Inner Beauty

To the girl looking in the mirror hoping she put on enough makeup to look “pretty.??? To the one counting all of their imperfections hoping it isn’t enough to make society see them as anything below acceptable. To the one who doesn’t think their mind is beautiful enough to capture the heart of another.

I’m here to tell you, you are more than enough.

The simple phrase everyone will tell you when you are down and out. The crutch you are supposed to lean on when the world feels like it is pushing away every ounce of confidence you have. The one phrase every single person struggles to believe.

I’m here to make you believe.

You are enough because every crevice and bump and color on your body, was carefully crafted to be exactly how they are. They were formed purposefully and beautifully. Your genes didn’t make a mistake.

Because why would something be made, if it wasn’t supposed to be how it is.

You are enough for the person who failed to love your heart. Because being enough for someone isn’t the same as being compatible with them. Don’t get those two confused.

You are enough because there is someone else thinking the same way you are, yet you two are going to be perfectly imperfect together. You won’t see the flaws they see in themselves. And they will do the same with you.

The so called flaws you see will disappear and you two will be compatible on a level you never knew possible.

You are enough because no matter how many times I’ve used the word, flaws aren’t actually a thing. They are the creation of a world who has become too focused on outside beauty to see the beauty of people’s hearts and minds.

The only flaws in the world are the flaws of society’s narrow-minded, but changing, viewpoint on perfection.

You are enough a thousand times over again, because in some way the world needed you here. To tell a story, to cause the chaos, to make others think. You were created for a reason. It’s just up to you to find that reason.

Which can be an incredible journey.

You are enough simply because I said so. I am enough. You are enough. Every person you meet in your life is enough.

Remember this.
