With October just around the bend, it is time to start decorating for Halloween! If you are looking to decorate your home but don’t want to break the bank, this list is for you! This compilation of cheap do-it-yourself-ers is sure to come in handy when you start to retire some of those outdated decorations this season
1. Missing a wreath for the season but can’t pay $40 for the picture perfect one in Michaels? Make your own using an empty frame and your choice of twine or ribbon. The only other thing you will need is a hot glue gun. So simple and it costs relatively nothing.
2. Don’t throw out that empty gallon of milk! Collect a few and you can easily turn them into ghosts for your walkway or your front porch! Just add some ghost faces with a sharpie and place an electric tea-light inside.
3. My personal favorite is the toilet paper pumpkin. All you need is a full, or even half full toilet paper roll, plastic bags, some fabric, and a twig from the yard. And of course, there is no sewing required! Find the full tutorial here.
4. With a piece of wood, paint, and some fabric that you already have laying around you can make this witch for $5 or less! You can view the amazing tutorial here.
5. Fall flowers are gorgeous, but it’s a shame that a good ceramic pumpkin can run you upwards of $20. However with this DIY you can still get all the charm for a quarter of the price! Spray paint a plastic pumpkin from the dollar store!
6. With some colored duct tape and twine you can make yourself an endless amount of garland for next to nothing. I love this idea because you can make it as creative as you’d like!
7. Transform your entryway with a tray of boring cups turned festive! You will only need a sharpie and tea-lights for this DIY, as well. Create your own ghouls and flip the cup over one or more tea-lights.
8. If you’d like some ghostly garland hanging around this Halloween, check out this DIY! With a short trip to the dollar store you can make this festive garland for under $7! Here is the full tutorial.
9. If you already have a vase full of branches in the house like I do, this could be the simplest Halloween DIY for you yet! All you will need is some black ribbon, white fabric glue, and the ability to tie a knot. You just can’t beat that!
10. If you’re not really into wreaths but still want something for your front door, try this! All you need is your choice of letters, some glitter, and sturdy ribbon. Check out the tutorial here.
I hope you enjoyed this list of simple and inexpensive Halloween DIYs. Please note that none of these ideas or pictures are my own; I just compiled the list! Thanks for reading! If you liked this post, check back for Thanksgiving’s share of cheap yet fabulous DIYs come November!
