While going out on dates can be fun, have you ever tried going on one with yourself?
I am definitely a big believer in dating myself a few times a month, whether it be going out, buying a new outfit, or turning all of my devices off for a little r&r.
These are the 6 dates you need in your life:
1. Take yourself out to dinner.
There is nothing wrong with going to a nice restaurant by yourself! The first time you do, it might feel a little weird, but by the end you’ll be so glad you did! There’s no one else to involve in deciding where to go, and the best part? You’ll be on no one’s schedule but your own, so you’ll get to take your sweet time. Don’t forget to save room for that dessert you’ve been eyeing!
2. Buy yourself a brand new outfit.
Go crazy; shoes, pants/skirt, shirt, dress, jacket/sweater, and you can’t forget about the accessories! Did you know that just making an online wish list of things you want can help reduce stress? Imagine what treating yourself to a whole outfit will do! You could even pair this with #1 to make a day out of it!
3. Go to your favorite coffee shop.
I am a coffee lover until the day I die. My guilty pleasure is a nice hot vanilla and hazelnut latte! Have you ever gone to your favorite coffee shop with a good book and just sat there while you drank your drink? Read your book, people watch. Do anything but be on your phone, laptop, tablet, etc. Notice all of the yummy smells around you too!
4. Netflix and chill
Who says you need to have another person for this? There is nothing better than wearing your favorite comfy clothes and burrowing in a pile of blankets on a cold day! Dim the lights, add in your favorite snacks and beverages of choice and you’re good to go! Since it is Christmas time, you can always check out the holiday movies!
5. At home spa day
While going to a spa would be amazing, they can be kind of pricey. Don’t let that stop you from pampering yourself from the comfort of your very own home! An amazing DIY body scrub that’s super easy to make is coconut oil, brown sugar, and ground coffee. It smells and feels so amazing! Get yourself a cute new nail polish, a super soft pair of fuzzy socks, and a face mask. You’ll be so glad you did!
6. Go exploring
If nature is your thing, go out by yourself! Bring a hammock, some snacks, a blanket, and a good book! Take the time to go somewhere you haven’t before. Jot down what you want for your future! Adventure is out there just waiting for you to climb aboard, so why wait?
