Don’t get me wrong, I love summer; the beautiful, hot days and the long summer nights. The parties, concerts, bonfires, it’s all so magical.
But all things come to an end and unfortunately summer doesn’t last forever, but who says the magic has to end when summer does? There are so many wonderful things your significant other and you, or just you, can do during the fall and winter months.
1. Hiking – seeing all of the beautiful colors of the trees is definitely one of my favorite things to do during the fall months; just enjoying nature, spending time with your love, or just time with yourself.
2. Attend a sporting event – fall/winter months are absolutely perfect for sporting events, such as football and hockey. Go out to a game, support your favorite team and enjoy the atmosphere of it all.
3. Netflix – now, don’t get it twisted, this isn’t a ‘Netflix & chill’ related gesture, just simply enjoying a night in, by the fire, enjoying your favorite shows/movies on Netflix.
4. Sledding/Ice Skating – holding hands with your boyfriend/girlfriend screams picture perfect date and definitely will bring you back to your childhood days of sledding around the neighborhood.
5. Make a Gingerbread House – one of my most favorite things is making gingerbread houses; sometimes they turn out great, other times not so much, but you’ll keep the memories of it forever and I guarantee you it’ll be one of your top favorites.
6. Carriage Rides – if you live in the city, this is perfect. There’s nothing better than enjoying a stroll around the town with the one you love.
7. Christmas Lights – this is definitely a top favorite; I love driving around looking at all of the beautiful light shows.
8. Indoor Shooting Range – now this one might sound a little weird to most, but to me this would be perfect. If you and your significant other both have a love for guns, then an indoor shooting range is great. It’s a wonderful things to do together, plus it definitely helps relieve some stress.
9. Scavenger Hunt – remember when you were a kid and you loved a good treasure hunt? Well, this is the adult version, it’s perfect for you and your spouse.
10. Letters to the Future – if you’re in a relationship or not, write letters, either to yourself or your significant other, 20 years down the road. If you write it to your significant other, read it to them, then lock it away for safe keeping.
11. Build a Snowman – because who doesn’t want to spend a day outside building a snowman??
12. Family Dinner – make dinner with your boyfriend/girlfriend and invite the family over. It’s a beautiful way to spend time with the family.
These are only a few things, the list doesn’t have to stop here. Make the most out of these months, enjoy them, they don’t last forever and they’re a perfect way to bond with your love.
