We all have something that we when see it, we stop in our tracks.
It’s a dream that we can’t shake, no matter how much we ignore it.
We can pretend that it doesn’t exist, but that just makes it worse.
It becomes more apparent.
It refuses to be ignored, no matter how much we try.
So, we have two options: Try to ignore it, and fail, or face it head on.
The first step is the very worst.
It takes everything within you to move, to tell ourselves that we are safe no matter what.
It takes strength, and sometimes, it’s not our own.
Sometimes we have to borrow it, and be thankful that it’s offered to us.
We feel weak asking for that help, but as a wise friend will tell you, it’s actually strength to ask for it.
After everything, you turn and look over your shoulder at what you fear most.
There it is, staring you right in the eye, and in that moment you realize that what scared you wasn’t fear.
It’s hope.
It’s not a shadowed figure made of self-doubt.
It’s a man who wants to hold your hand, if only you’d let him.
It’s who you’ve always wanted to meet.
Reach out and take hold.
All that’s in your way is a few steps, not a mile.
You are deserving of love.
