When Things Suck, And It's Not Your Fault

Sometimes we forget about why we’re put in a place where nothing makes sense.  Our hearts break, our minds wander, we screw up royally and we regularly want to scream in the face of society for putting so many different types of pressure on us, day in and day out.  We forget that we’re here to learn and that it’s okay if things don’t work out the way we planned, or at all.  Sometimes we’re destined to take another route or just fail all together.

We often just feel the need to be mad at the people who mess up our plans, but we forget to thank them for teaching us how to deal with the unforseen and how to be mature about the plastic world that we live in.

How many times have you looked in the mirror and thought, “wow, I’m not okay with this.”  Now how many times have you thought critically about why there’s a reason that you aren’t okay with that.  Imagine the power hidden among every person who is held back, solely by how they felt about themselves.  Think about the potential hidden within yourself that you’re letting society inhibit.

Are there people that were in your life that when they come to mind, your eyes tear up?  Do you ever think about them and wonder what it would be like if they were still a part of your life?  Now do you ever look at the people in your life now who participate in your success and happiness? Your well being belongs to you and the people who care about it.

The point of this self reflection serves a bit of an exercise to remind ourselves that, even though things are bad now… they will more than likely get better or have a counter part that we are choosing to ignore.  Hurt doesn’t ever fade fast.  Happiness however, can glow fast and bright.
