Job Hunting? Check Out These 10 Cities That Are Aggressively Hiring

Since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, the United States offers opportunities for those willing to buckle down and work.  As time has changed this has not always the truth.  There is a Great Migration of both blue collar and college graduates in hot pursuit of The American Dream.  If you’re willing to pull up stakes and move, here are some cities that are showing an upward trend: 

The southern half of the nation appears to offer the most growth for jobs.  According to Forbes Magazine,    

  1. Deltona, Florida Located halfway between Dayton Beach and Orlando, this city is offering a net employment outlook of 24%. 

  2. McAllen, Texas With an employment outlook of 23%, this town is home to the International Museum of Art and Science, and the historic adobe home, Quinta Mazatlan.  Located at the Tex-Mex border, this beautiful city is an afternoon drive to The Gulf of Mexico.

  3. Austin, Texas It’s a banner year for the Lone Star State. With a job growth, and beautiful planned communities, Austin is an attractive place to be.

  4. Cape Coral, Florida Located on the Gulf of Mexico, it has been deemed a ‘Waterfront Wonderland.” This city can boast the fact that is has more canals than any other city in the world. (Take that, Venice!) With a net employment out look of 20%, this is the perfect place to settle in.

  5. Dallas, Texas Home to 12 Fortune 500 companies; Dallas has nowhere to go but up.  This urban metropolis is home base to the Dallas Mavericks basketball team as well as The Dallas Cowboys football team.  Offering a bit of something for everyone, The Winspear Opera House, The Dallas Museum of Art, George Bush Presidential Library and Museum and The Dallas Symphony Orchestra all call Dallas home.

  6. Atlanta, Georgia Considered an “Alpha” or “World” city, Atlanta has a Gross Domestic Product of $270 billion. With one of the world’s largest aquariums, professional sports teams and former host of the 1996 Summer Olympics Atlanta is surely a Georgia peach.

  7. Phoenix, Arizona With an 18% net employment outlook, Phoenix offers a breath tasking vista from whichever way you look at it.  Offering professional sports teams that include NASCAR, basketball and baseball this capital of Arizona may be the perfect place to call home.

  8. San Antonio, Texas With a diversified economy focused on military, health care, government services and tourism, San Antonio has a $96.8 billion GDP.  The Alamo and The River Walk are the two main tourist attractions that lure visitors here every year. 

  9. Sacramento, California Capital of California, the city’s main employer is the State of California. With prospects of a new arena for downtown, job growth has been steadily on the rise.  

  10. Charlotte, North Carolina Housing 8 Fortune 500 Companies and the second largest banking center in the United States, Charlotte’s trends continue to grow. Tourism is a huge market.  The sub-tropic humid climate lures snowbirds, as does the plethora of golf courses.
