4 Reasons Why Sharing a Sense of Humor is Key in a Relationship

It Brings Happiness

You don’t need a doctor to tell you that life can be stressful. Thankfully, a doctor will tell you that laughter can combat said stress in pretty profound ways. If your partner is able to help you forget about the pressure you’re facing at work, the struggles you’re having with family, or the simple unhappiness that strikes all of us on occasion, you’re likely to associate that person with good, positive feelings. Whatever your circumstances, knowing that you can go home to someone who makes you feel better will provide for a positive relationship.

You Won’t Offend Each Other

It’s no secret that we don’t all agree on what is funny, or on what subject matter is worthy of a joke. Sometimes, your sense of humor may offend someone. In day-to-day life, this isn’t much of an issue. When it comes to your love life, though, it can be pretty important. When you want to relax at the end of the day, when you strive to adopt a more carefree, humorous attitude – you’ve just been at the office, where you were required to be far more serious than you’d like – it helps to know that the person you’re living with won’t be upset with you for making a joke.
