3. Table hot button issues
Do you have differing opinions about politics or social issues? Now is definitely not the time to be having intense conversations with your partner!
Table hot button topics until you’re able to get away from each other if things go south.
4. Get support from friends and family
Forget getting groceries delivered or being laid off, for many people, the hardest part of COVID-19 has been social distancing.
Being away from friends and family is hard, especially if you are experiencing a big life change, like becoming pregnant or celebrating a milestone anniversary.
Find ways to spend time with your loved ones. Have family/friend game nights via game apps or video chat.
Making time with your extended friends and family a priority will help ease some of the sadness you feel and will break up the monotony of being with your spouse 24-7.
5. Communicate with your spouse
Communication will save your relationship while under quarantine. Talk to your spouse about how you feel.
Not only will this take a weight off of your chest, but it will give your partner an opportunity to have empathy for you.
6. Take breaks from each other
Healthy couples know that having a solo social life is just as important as having date nights together.
Take a break from your partner every once and awhile. Go off and do your own thing like take a bath, practice your hobbies, listen to your favorite podcast, work out, or socialize via video chat with your BFFs. We promise the time you spend apart will do you a world of good!
