There’s a quote that goes “every girl has her best friend, boyfriend, and true love. But you’re really lucky if they’re all the same person???. I suppose that means I am one really lucky girl.
The moment I laid my eyes on you, I knew there was something different about you. The first time we were ever alone together, walking back to Slater, I knew it even more. From what I remember, our conversation came so easy and natural. We laughed a lot and the butterflies I had in my stomach never stopped fluttering.
Almost six months later of truly getting to know you, I’m happy to say our conversations still come easy and natural, the laughter never seems to stop, and the butterflies still have yet to fly away.
I’m writing this today because I want to take the time to truly sum it up in words how thankful I am to have you in my life. I’ve always been better at expressing my feelings in writing because I have less of a chance of messing it up.
First, I want to thank you for doing the little things. The simple phone calls we have never fail to make my day. I love our snapchats as well. We’re definitely killing that snap streak game. Thank you for making me laugh and also laughing with me even when I make a corny joke or think something is way more funnier that it really is. Laughter is the best medicine. Thank you for always complimenting me and making me feel beautiful. Thank you for educating me on sports and for not making fun of me too much when I show my illiterate side with that subject. Most importantly, thank you for spending time with me no matter what it is we do. I love our days/evenings together more than you will ever know. And thank you for sacrificing things for me.
One thing I have really loved about you being home for the summer is me getting the chance to meet your family. Back in Iowa I could tell that you came from a great family just by what you had told me and by the way you treated me. Right off the bat I knew you were a great guy and that had to have meant that you had awesome parents that raised you well. I honestly think very highly of your family and I really enjoy being at your house around them. I love how hardworking and goal oriented you are. Your passion about sports and wanting to make it a career is something that I find very admirable. Watching how excited you get about your future makes me that much more motivated with the career I want to do. Thank you for pushing me to be that better person even if you’ve never realized you do.
I’ve told you this before, but I love how you wear your cross around your neck and never take it off. It says so much about you and I truly do see all the qualities in you that that cross represents. After getting to know you better and finding out that you have the same religion and beliefs that I do only made you that much more attractive. I think that has made our bond even more special too. At night when I say my prayers, I always include you in them as well and thank God for putting you in my life.
As you know, I’ve never been in a serious relationship before. I know sometimes we have petty arguments and sometimes I speak before thinking. I’m aware that I have some not so attractive flaws with some stuff. But I really am trying to make the effort of changing my ways. Thank you for being patient with me and always forgiving me.
You always go above and beyond for me and I can’t even put into words how much I appreciate that. From day one you have always treated me so well and have never disrespected me. I’ve never had someone, besides my family, care about me as much as you do. I just want you to know how special that makes me feel. The things you do, even little, never go unnoticed. You have honestly lit up my world in more ways than one and I am beyond lucky to have you. Thank you for being my best friend, my boyfriend, and my love.
