It is so much easier to just close yourself off to the idea of love, to shield your heart from the possibility of it breaking, to save yourself the possibility of letting someone see the truest version of yourself.
It’s also so much easier to justify the love the good parts of a person, to overlook the bad and to attempt to separate the two. However, love doesn’t allow you to do that.
Being vulnerable is hard and we all sometimes do our best to hide that part of ourselves because we’re afraid to let someone see the not so pretty parts of who we are.
However, I need you to know that even on your worst days I will love you more.
Why would I do that? Well, it’s because that is what you deserve and that is what love is. It isn’t always going to be beautiful, it’s going to be messy and sometimes irritating but on those days I promise to love you more than I did the day before.
I’ll love you for everything you hate about yourself whether that is things you see as imperfections or habits that you have.
I’ll love you on the days you don’t feel as smart or if you mess up something at work. I’ll remind you of how intelligent you are and boost you up.
I’ll love you when your insecurities are pointed out.
I will love you for the man you are and I’ll appreciate you for everything you try to do.
I will love every moment we spend together and the memories that we create.
I’ll love you harder when your natural instincts kick in and you start pushing me away. In fact, I’ll pull you in closer.
I’ll love you through every argument and promise never to let you go to bed if we’re still angry.
I’ll love you even when you frustrate me.
I’ll love you when you’re trying to push my buttons.
I’ll love you for all the times you aren’t quite sure you’re getting this whole relationship thing right.
