Feminism and the Myth of the “Other Girls”

 

Well, if stereotypes mean anything, Other Girls are the ones who:

 

-wear make-up, but like, too much make-up
-talk like a Valley Girl
-take selfies with duck-lips
-dress/act in a sexually provocative manner
-only have vapid, shallow, meaningless interests
-are self-absorbed
-are too high strung to “hang with the guys”
-don’t know anything about cars, sports, or “cool stuff”
-have lots of boyfriends
-are flaky and floozies
-cheat on their significant others
-crave attention

 

I mean, I could make this pretty long, but the list of Feminine Abominations is pretty long. And this is what girls do, right? Isn’t this what The Stereotypical Woman is?

 

The problems with that are plenty, but mainly there are two:
